Qualification for TNPSC Recruitment 2023:

According to the official notification of TNPSC Recruitment 2023, the Qualification is given below.

For College Librarian in Government Law Colleges Librarian and Information:

(i) Interested candidates with a Master’s Degree in Library Science or Information Science Documentation Science or an equivalent professional degree, with not less than fifty-five percent of marks, will be given preference.

(ii) One year Post Graduate Diploma in Library Automation and Networking or Experience for a period of not less than one year as a Librarian or Assistant Librarian or Library Assistant or Cataloger in a Library, wherein Library automation software is used; and

(iii) A Consistently good academic record

For Librarian and Information Officer in Anna Centenary Library in Public Libraries Department:

(i) The interested candidates should have a Master’s Degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science of a University recognized by the University Grants Commission

(ii) A Master’s Degree from a University recognized by the University Grants Commission; (10+2+3+2 pattern)

(iii) Must have experience as Librarian for a period of not less than five years in Academic or Public or Special or Corporate Libraries.

For District Library Officer:

(i) The interested candidates should have a Master’s degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science of a University recognized by the University Grants Commission

(ii) Any Master’s Degree of a University recognized by the University Grants Commission in the pattern of 10+2 or its equivalent + 3 + 2; and

(iii) Must have experience for a period of not less than three years in any of the libraries in a supervisory cadre.

For Library Assistant in the Secretariat Library in the Public Department:

The interested candidates should have a Degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science.

For Librarian and Information Assistant Grade II for Kalaignar Memorial Library and Anna Centenary Library in Public Libraries Department:

(i) The interested candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science of a University recognized by the University Grants Commission.

(ii) A Bachelor’s Degree from a University recognized by the University Grants Commission.

Salary for TNPSC Recruitment 2023:

For College Librarians the minimum salary is Rs 57700 and the maximum should be Rs. 211500

For Librarians and Information Officers, the minimum salary is Rs 56100 and the maximum should be Rs. 205700

For District Library Officer the minimum salary is Rs 56100 and the maximum should be Rs. 205700

For Library Assistants the minimum salary is Rs 35400 and the maximum should be Rs. 130400

For Librarian and Information, Assistant Grade-II the minimum salary is Rs 19500 and the maximum should be Rs. 71900
