DRDO Recruitment 2023: Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory, located in Ramgarh Range, Chandigarh, is inviting applications for engagement of Apprenticeship for one-year training in various trades under the provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961. A laboratory is a unit of the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, Government of India. As per DRDO Recruitment 2023 official notification, the candidates will be selected on a merit basis, and the last date for the receipt of applications is March 17, 2023.
The laboratory is looking to engage apprentices in a variety of trades such as Welder, Secretarial Assistant, Stenographer, Digital Photographer, Computer operator and programming assistant (COPA), Electrician, Fitter, Machinist, Electronics Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic, Draughtsman, Mechanic (Motor Vehicle), Turner, and Carpenter. Candidates interested in the apprenticeship should apply through the NAPS portal at apprenticeshipindia.org. As per DRDO Recruitment 2023 official notification, the selection board of TBRL shall go through the applications and shortlist the candidates as per the vacancies indicated above. Selected candidates will be required to report at TBRL, Ramgarh Range, and they will be entitled to stipends as per the provisions of the Apprenticeship Act, 1961.
As per DRDO Recruitment 2023 official notification, the offer of apprenticeship does not confer any right of employment in DRDO, and there is no provision for the appointment of the apprenticeship trainee in DRDO or in this Laboratory after the completion of training, and candidates cannot claim the same. As per DRDO Recruitment 2023 official notification, the selection process for the TBRL (Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory) will involve a thorough review of all the applications received from interested candidates. The selection board of TBRL will examine each application carefully and shortlist the candidates based on the vacancies that are available.
After the initial screening, the shortlisted candidates will be evaluated on a merit basis, which means that their percentage of marks in the qualifying examination will be taken into consideration. The candidates with the highest percentage of marks will be given priority in the selection process.
However, in case of a tie between two or more candidates, the marks obtained in the lower examination will be considered as a tie-breaker. This implies that the candidate who scored better in the lower examination will be given preference.
As per DRDO Recruitment 2023 official notification, the offer of apprenticeship does not guarantee employment in DRDO, and there is no provision for appointment after completion of training. The age of apprentice must be at least 14 years old. Candidates for Technician (ITD) Apprentice must be registered at National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) portal and can only apply through the portal.
Candidates with post-graduation are not eligible to apply. Reservation will be applied as per the provisions of the Apprenticeship Act, 1961, and Apprenticeship Rules 1992. Selected candidates will receive a stipend as per the provision of the Apprentice Act, 1961. The apprentices will not be provided any quarter hostel accommodation or transport by the establishment during the training period. Selected candidates must execute a contract for one year of training as per the provision of the Apprenticeship Act, of 1961. The decision of the TBRL management shall be final in case of any dispute.
As per DRDO Recruitment 2023 official notification, the selection process for the apprenticeship program requires candidates to apply through the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) portal. All necessary documents and certificates should be uploaded on the portal.
In addition, candidates must send scanned copies of all relevant documents via email to the given address. Applications without scanned documents will not be considered.
The deadline for submitting the application is March 17, 2023. Late or incomplete applications will be rejected.
