Roles and Responsibilities:

The Ideal Candidate should be able to:

• University level or equivalent education background.
• Over 5 years working experience with at least 3 years in import, export, customs or trade related areas.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and influence skills with internal and external parties.
• Quick learner and sense of change readiness.
• Excellent oral and written skills in both English and local language. Good computer skills and system knowledge
• Strong experience in IKEA supply chain and logistics.
• Demonstrate IKEA value and culture
• Strong knowledge in customs and trade area; Good compliance awareness; Good understanding of leadership; Good knowledge in supply chain/logistics; Good knowledge of Customs system; Good understanding of government policy.
• High interest in customs and trade related fields.
• Enjoy’s working with people and motivated by developing people.
• Lead and motivate people.

Your Responsibilities

• To represent IKEA in interactions with Customs and other participating Government agencies for handling escalations during custom clearance process.
• To develop and maintain business relations with the Customs and participating Government agencies from time to time.
• To secure operational challenges faced during customs assessment / examination is brought back to the causing functions through the Customs Documentation team for improving customs process.
• Facilitate regular interactions with Customs and Other Participating Government entities to discuss operational challenges and find ways to improve productivity and costs without compromising on compliances.
• Lead the Operations team based in customs locations and support the overall development of the teams competence related to operations and leadership.
• Collaborate with Documentation Team to drive process improvements related to tasks handled by Customs Operations team.
• Drive initiatives to reduce operational costs and lead times.
• Be responsible for import and export affairs in assigned IKEA units, securing efficient and effective internal controls and conducting business in compliance with internal and external rules and regulations and achieve operation excellence.
• Work closely with IKEA stakeholders, continuously enhance process optimization to meet business requirements.
• Secure IKEA business model and bonded warehouse management.
• Maintain good communication with local authorities and get their support on tracking and adapting relevant rules to contribute on cost and operation efficiency.
• Lead and develop team in accordance with “Leading business and people together”, secure team competence to current and future needs.
