Overview:

Abbott is hiring an experienced Finance Specialist Controlling at their Mumbai location. The Financial Specialist in our Innovation & Development (I&D) organization is responsible for the financial planning and analysis with respect to I&D activities. She/he is part of the core I&D Finance team and will report to the Finance Specialist along with other I&D team members.  This role leads the monthly closing process and plays a significant role in the other key planning processes of the I&D organization (annual plan, rolling LBEs, etc) with the objective to provide an accurate organization-wide financial overview for senior management decision making.

What will you be doing:

Supports the Finance Manager on execution of the key financial planning processes for the global I&D organization:  budget preparation, rolling LBE updates and monthly resource allocation reviews.

Leads the Time-writing / Resource Planning initiative within global I&D, including training of new time writers, consolidation of information and report preparation for senior management

Supports the I&D teams in day to day financial management through the following:

Preparation of reports and analyses on key financial issues, including recommendations of corrective actions and follow up on issue resolution in a timely and proactive manner to ensure delivery against agreed targets;

Coordination of the teams around key financial processes, ensuring a standardized approach is followed across teams with relevant members involved and accountable;

Assistance in the preparation of deliverables and readiness for senior mgmt. review associated  with key financial processes

Collaborates closely with EPD Finance team members on key financial processes / timelines.

Deputizes the Finance Manager (as required).

Involved in I&D organization and EPD Finance project work, as required.

Qualifications for this Job:

Bachelor’s Degree (Accounting / Finance concentration); CPA and/or MBA preferred

Minimum 5 to 9 years experience in Controlling / FP&A.  Preferable to have a mix of Development and Commercial Finance experience

Experience working within a multinational environment with internal and external partners/stakeholders

High energy, strategic thinker possessing an agile & innovative mindset

Possess an agile and solution-oriented mindset for working in / providing information in a continuously changing and complex environment

Good SAP, Excel skills (Power BI a plus)

Strong communication, presentation and teamwork skills

Fluency in English, additional languages a plus
