Overview:

Peta is hiring an experienced Accounts Officer at their Mumbai location. You will verify vendor invoices and supporting documentation and process vendor payments and document financial transactions by entering accounting information into Tally ERP software.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate should be able to:

• Payment and filing of monthly and/or quarterly returns of tax deduction at source, provident fund, profession tax, and goods and services tax
• Process monthly bank reconciliations
• Process staff advances and expenses and all relevant documentation
• Handle day-to-day petty cash expenses
• Generate monthly reports for management
• Maintain organised and meticulous records
• Adhere strictly to deadlines
• Maintain confidentiality regarding all financial matters
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:

• A graduate degree (B.Com) from a recognised university
• Minimum of five years of relevant experience
• Computer proficiency and working knowledge of Tally software
• Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills
• Proven respect for and ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Alignment with PETA India’s philosophy and the ability to advocate professionally for PETA India’s positions on issues
• Commitment to the objectives of the organisation
