Age Limit for BARC Recruitment 2024:

The age limit for applying to BARC Recruitment 2024 is given below-

• The minimum age limit is 18 years.
• The maximum age limit is mentioned below-

1. General Category – 26 years
2. OBC (Non Creamy Layer)-29 years
3. SC/ST-31 years
4. Dependents of those who died in the riots of 1984 (Dep1984) -31 years
5. Persons domiciled in Kashmir Division of Jammu and Kashmir State from 01/01/1980 to 31/12/1989 (Dom Kashmir) -31 years
6. A person with a physical disability with an extent of disability of 40% or more will be considered for age relaxation and may be permitted a scribe.

Tenure for BARC Recruitment 2024:

The chosen candidates for BARC Recruitment 2024 will be appointed for a period as indicated below-

• The Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates and Science Postgraduates (OCES) -2024 is made for a period of 01 year.
• The DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme for Engineering Graduates (DGFS) -2024 is made for a period of 02 years.

Salary for BARC Recruitment 2024:

Based on the official notification of BARC Recruitment 2024, the selected candidates will be paid a monthly salary as mentioned below-

• Appointment in all the units shall be as a Scientific Officer in a Group-A Post of the Government of India in Level 10-56,100/- of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix. Appointment will be at the beginning of the pay scale with OCES TSOS getting two or three increments depending on their performance during the OCES programme and the DGFS Fellows getting three or four increments depending on their performance in M.Tech and the four-month OCDF.
• Total Monthly Emoluments (with three increments) at the time of joining including Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance and Transport Allowance as per the present Mumbai rate will be approximately 120000.
• In addition, other Allowances such as Leave Travel Concession by air, every year up to the first eight years (subject to conditions); and once in two years thereafter, Children’s Education Allowance, annual Professional Update Allowance and Performance Related Incentive Scheme (PRIS) as per Government norms subject to approval and revised from time to time, are also payable.

Qualification for BARC Recruitment 2024:

Candidate must have the required qualification to apply for BARC Recruitment 2024 as described below-

For Engineering disciplines (OCES Exam codes 21-28)-

• The applicant must have a B.E./B.Tech./ B.Sc. (Engineering)/5-year Integrated M.Tech, with a minimum of 60%* aggregate marks. in one of the engineering qualifying degrees mentioned. Applicants opting to be considered on the basis of a GATE score must have a GATE-2022, GATE-2023 or GATE- 2024 Score in the same engineering discipline as the qualifying degree discipline.

For Physics discipline (OCES Exam code 41)-

• The applicant must have a M.Sc. /Integrated M. Sc. in Physics/ Applied Physics/ Nuclear Physics/ Solid State Physics/ Condensed Matter Physics/ Atomic and Molecular physics/ Particle and High Energy Physics// Nano Sc. and Technology/ Astronomy/ Engineering physics with Physics and Mathematics at B.Sc. or at subsidiary and/or ancillary level in case of 5-year integrated M.Sc, or B.E. /B.Tech. in Engineering Physics with a minimum of 60%* aggregate marks in the qualifying degree. M.Sc. candidates (other than those applying with a 5-year integrated M.Sc. degree) must additionally have a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in B.Sc.. Physics postgraduate applicants opting to be considered on the basis of a GATE Score should have a GATE-2022, GATE-2023 or GATE-2024 Score in ‘Physics’. Applicants having B.E./B.Tech. (Engineering Physics) as a qualifying degree can apply on the basis of a GATE-2022, GATE-2023 or GATE-2024 Score either in ‘Physics’ or in ‘Engineering Sciences’.

For Chemistry discipline (OCES Exam code 42)-

• The applicant must have a M.Sc. /Integrated M. Sc. in Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, and Analytical Chemistry with Physics up to B.Sc. or at subsidiary and/or ancillary level in case of 5-year integrated M.Sc. and Mathematics at Std. XII or at B.Sc. or at subsidiary and/or ancillary level in case of 5-year integrated M.Sc. with a minimum of 60%* aggregate marks in M.Sc. All candidates (other than those applying with a 5-year integrated M.Sc. degree) must additionally have a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in B.Sc. Applicants opting to be considered on the basis of a GATE Score should have a GATE-2022, GATE-2023 or GATE-2024 Score in ‘Chemistry’.

For Biosciences discipline (OCES Exam code 43)-

• The applicant must have a M.Sc. /Integrated M. Sc. in Agriculture, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, Botany, Zoology, Plant Science, Plant Breeding, Plant Pathology, Entomology, Food Technology, Food Science, Animal Science, Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Bioinformatics /Computational Biology and BSMS in Biosciences with a minimum of 60%* aggregate marks in M.Sc. as well as in B.Sc.; or B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc. (Tech.) only in Food Technology with a minimum of 60% * aggregate marks. M.Sc. applicants should have at least one out of Physics or Chemistry or Biochemistry or Agriculture Chemistry as a subject at the B.Sc. stage or at subsidiary and/or ancillary level in case of 5-year integrated M.Sc. Applicants opting to be considered on the basis of a GATE Score should have a GATE-2022, GATE-2023 or GATE-2024 Score in ‘Life Sciences’ or in ‘Biotechnology’.

For Geology discipline (Code 45)-

• The applicant must have an M.Sc. or equivalent M.Tech. in Geology, Applied Geology, Applied Geochemistry, 5 or 6-year integrated M.Tech in Geological Technology with Geology at B.Sc. or upto subsidiary and/or ancillary level in case of 5 or 6-year integrated M.Tech in Geological Technology. Eligible candidates must have two subjects out of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry up to B.Sc. or at subsidiary and/or ancillary level in case of 5-year integrated M.Sc./ 5-year integrated M.Tech., with a minimum of 60%* aggregate marks in M.Sc./M.Tech. All eligible candidates (other than those applying with a 5-year integrated M.Sc./ M.Tech. degree) must have a minimum of 60%* aggregate marks in B.Sc. Additionally, eligible candidates must have passed Mathematics in Std. XII. All applicants opting to be considered on the basis of a GATE Score should have a GATE-2022, GATE-2023 or GATE-2024 Score in ‘Geology and Geophysics’.

Selection Process for BARC Recruitment 2024:

The selection of BARC Recruitment 2024 will be determined on the basis of Screening to shortlist candidates followed by Selection Interviews of the shortlisted candidates. The selection interview for all disciplines except Geology will be conducted at the BARC Training School, Mumbai. Interviews in the Geology discipline will be conducted in Hyderabad. Final selection is solely on the basis of performance in the Selection Interview, subject to medical fitness.

Application Fee for BARC Recruitment 2024:

Candidates have to pay Rs.500 as a non-refundable application fee to apply for BARC Recruitment 2024. The women, SC/ST, Dependents of Defense Personnel Killed in Action (DODPKIA) and Physically challenged candidates are exempted from payment of the application fee.
