Overview:

Barclays is seeking applications from qualified and interested applicants for the position of AVP Credit Manager in Noida, India. In this role, you will independently assess and make credit decisions for complex financing transactions in the LevFin, SLF, and Hedge Funds sectors, ensuring compliance with the bank’s credit risk appetite and regulatory requirements, as well as contribute to the development and implementation of credit risk policies and procedures for the Specialised Sector.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Accountabilities:

  • Analysis of complex financial information and business models of LevFin, SLF, and Hedge Fund clients to assess their creditworthiness, repayment capacity, and potential risks.
  • Monitoring of the performance of the LevFin, SLF, and Hedge Fund portfolio, identifying and reporting early warning signs of potential credit deterioration.
  • Evaluation of the risk profile of each application considering factors like industry trends, borrower financials, collateral, and market conditions.
  • Development and implementation of strategies to mitigate identified credit risks and optimise portfolio performance.

  • Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communicate complex information. ‘Complex’ information could include sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience.
  • Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • CA or MBA (CFA/FRM added advantage)
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in corporate credit analysis in a Global Bank/Rating Agencies.
  • Undertake fundamental credit analysis on his/her portfolio of corporate credit counterparties:
  • Prepare annual/periodic credit reviews for submission to senior Risk Officers and Credit Committees
  • Handle deal and transaction flow including M&A, conventional refinancing deals and derivative requests
  • Timely action on transaction-level limit requests received from Front office and Product areas via allocation from pre-agreed limit framework assigned by onshore credit officers (if any)
  • Ensure all relevant Credit Risk policies, standards and procedures are followed
  • Updating all credit risk systems to ensure that credit limits, internal grades and other credit parameters are aligned with the framework assigned by onshore credit officers
  • Perform credit analysis on interim requests for credit facility amendments, and prepare analysis in support of interim headroom requests, for presentation to senior Risk officers for approval
  • Undertake quarterly reviews on more complex and higher risk groups, including reporting on corporate credit counterparties which have been determined to merit more frequent credit review
  • On-going monitoring of portfolio of industries for material developments affecting credit quality and the initiation of appropriate action.
