CBSE Board Exam 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has scheduled the Practical Examinations/IA and Board Annual Theory Examinations for Classes X and XII to begin on 01 January 2025 and 15 February 2025 respectively.

The official notification reads, “The Practical Examinations/ IA for class X and XIl and the Board’s Annual Theory Examinations are scheduled to start w.e.f. 01/01/2025 and 15/02/2025 respectively.”

CBSE winter-bound schools will organise practical exams from November 5 and December 5, 2024. For conducting Practical Examinations/IA and Board Annual Theory Examinations for Classes X and XII in these schools, CBSE has released Standards Operating Procedures (SOPs) and some set of guidelines.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has been noticing improper distribution of marks to students in their Practical/Project/Internal Assessment. Hence to assist schools in conducting smooth Practical/Project/Internal Assessments and also the theory examinations, CBSE has provided a detailed list of subjects for both classes 10th and 12th containing the following details:

  • Class
  • Subject Code
  • Subject Name
  • Maximum Marks Theory Examination
  • Maximum Marks Practical Examination
  • Maximum Marks Project Assessment
  • Maximum Marks Internal Assessment (IA)
  • Whether External Examiner will be appointed for practical/project assessment
  • Whether Practical Answer Book will be provided by the Board – Type of Answer Book that will be used in Theory Examinations

Along with the announcement of dates for the practical exams and annual examinations, CBSE has also released the subject-wise marks distribution for classes 10th and 12th. CBSE has advised all the schools to carefully distribute marks to students as per their performance. Avoid errors while uploading practical marks to students, as once these marks are submitted no changes are made to them. However, these marks affect student’s overall performance a lot.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared the maximum marks allotted to each subject is 100 (One Hundred) with the distribution of marks into theory, practical, project and IA components given in the details mentioned.
