CBSE Class 10th Syllabus: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the official syllabus for the CBSE class 10th for the academic session 2023-24. It is crucial for every student to go through the official syllabus. The detailed syllabus helps students in channeling their study plan. Knowing the comprehensive syllabus well before the exam helps students stand out and score better. The official syllabus serves as a guide for the course structure and course curriculum offered in a particular academic session.
The examination for the academic session 2022-23 was recently conducted by the CBSE. Now the 2023-24 academic session has started. Keeping this in mind, the CBSE released the comprehensive syllabus for class 10th on its official website. The CBSE published the syllabus for all courses (elective and compulsory) on its official website. Students who are in the class 10th in the academic session 2023-24 can download the syllabus by visiting the CBSE’s website.
The CBSE released the new syllabus for the academic session 2023-24 after considering all the relevant suggestions and expert advice. The official syllabus contains unit-wise marks distribution, course structure, and the number of periods required for each unit. The syllabus for each subject also contains topics and sub-topics so that students can identify the priority of topics. Furthermore, the CBSE Class 10 Syllabus includes information regarding the examination format, question paper structure, projects, assignments, and practical tasks held during the year. The CBSE class 10th official syllabus contains the course structure for the CBSE class 10th 2023-24. The class 10th course structure for the academic session 2023-24 is tabulated below:
The CBSE class 10th subjects have been divided into the following groups:
I) Group-L: Group L is the language group. Students will have to compulsorily choose 2 language subjects from a list of 40 languages. Students can also choose a third language subject as their optional subject.
II) Group-A1: Group A1 consists of the main subjects. These are conventional subjects and are compulsory. This group has 3 subjects: Mathematics, Science, and Social Science.
III) Group-A2: This group contains elective subjects. Students have the option to choose these subjects but these are not compulsory.
IV) Subject of Internal Assessment: This group contains three subjects, namely Health and Physical Education, Work Experience, and Art Education. These are compulsory subjects. Board exams will not be conducted for these subjects. Marks for these subjects will be given on the basis of school-based internal assessment only.
