CBSE National Coding Challenge 2023: Registration Date Extended, Check Details

CBSE National Coding Challenge 2023: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the last date for registration for the CBSE National Coding Challenge 2023. The last date for registration to participate in the CBSE National Coding Challenge has been extended to 15th April 2023. The official notification for the same was released on 14th March 2023. The CBSE National Coding Challenge 2023 is being organized in collaboration with Microsoft. Students from classes 6th to 8th are eligible to participate in the challenge mentioned above.

The CBSE organizes the National coding challenge to equip students with 21st-century skills. The CBSE National Coding Challenge 2023 will provide students with a chance to solve real-life problems using modern technologies. Students will have to resolve some real-life issues by using their coding skills. The real-life problems have been categorized into a set of themes. Participating students will have to solve a real-world problem based on a particular theme, using programming. The themes for the CBSE National Coding Challenge 2023 are mentioned below:

  1. Earth- Protect Biodiversity and Natural Habitats
  2. Cultural Heritage Preservation
  3. Accessibility
  4. Humanitarian action
  5. Health
  6. AI for Good

Eligibility for CBSE National Coding Challenge 2023

The CBSE has laid out certain eligibility criteria to participate in the CBSE National Coding Challenge 2023. The detailed eligibility criteria are mentioned herein:

  1. Only students of Classes 6th,7th & 8th, who are enrolled in a school, are eligible.
  2. A single team can have a minimum of one (1) student and a maximum of four (4) students from the same school OR different schools.
  3. Each team of students must also have a registered faculty member.
  4. All members of a particular team should belong to the same class.
  5. Each team must have at least one (1) Desktop/laptop with good internet connectivity.

Participation Guidelines for CBSE National Coding Challenge 2023 

Every team must strictly observe the guidelines issued by the CBSE for participating in the National Coding Challenge 2023. Some important participation guidelines are listed below:

  1. Each team must name its team and select a faculty member as the SPOC (Single Point of Contact).
  2. Each student should be a part of only one team.
  3. The SPOC must complete the registration process and upon successful registration, access to the contest resources will be shared on the registered email ID.
  4. Each SPOC must send their team’s submission(s) through the provided website link using the registered Emai ID.
  5. Projects must be submitted using any of the three platforms: Minecraft, Arcade, or MakeCode for micro: bit.

The CBSE National Coding Challenge was successfully completed last year. Many students from across the India and world participated in the challenge in 2022. Some important highlights of the CBSE National Coding Challenge 2022 are given below:

2nd Runner-up 2: Team Sparta Scriptans, Spartan Exclusive School, Tamil Nadu (Theme: Protect Biodiversity and Natural Habitats)

The CBSE in association with Microsoft will award various prizes to the winners of the CBSE National Coding Challenge 2023. The top 3 teams will be given trophies. The top 30 teams will get certificates. The names of the top 30 teams will be published on the official website.
