• Candidates should have postgraduate degrees in the concerned specialty as mentioned in Part A of Annexure-II or its equivalent qualifications.
• Candidates should have at least 3 years of teaching experience as a lecturer, registrar, demonstrator, or resident after doing post-graduation in the concerned specialty in any recognized medical college.
• Candidates should have an M.D. (Pathology), Ph.D. (Pathology), or D.Sc. (Pathology).

Desirable Qualification:

• Candidates should have knowledge of customs, manners, and dialects of Himachal Pradesh, suitability for appointment in the peculiar conditions prevailing in the Pradesh, and publication of research papers in Index Journals.

Other Qualification:

• Candidates should have an M.D.  a Ph.D. (Pathology) or a D.Sc. (pathology).

Selection Process for HPPSC Recruitment 2023:

A computer Based Test (CBT) or Offline Screening Test of one hour duration having 100 marks consisting of objective type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) with negative marking for incorrect/ wrong answers as follows:-

Paper -I:

• General knowledge of Himachal Pradesh = 30 Marks
• General knowledge of National and International Affairs = 30 Marks
• Knowledge of the Hindi language = 20 Marks
• Knowledge of the English language = 20 Marks

Paper -II:

• A descriptive Subject Aptitude Test (SAT) of three hours duration having 120 marks as per the syllabus to be decided by the Commission from time to time.
