IIT Hyderabad Recruitment 2023: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad is seeking exceptional and highly motivated Indian Nationals or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) candidates with a proven track record of independent, high-quality research and dedication to teaching for positions of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor in various departments. As per IIT Hyderabad Recruitment 2023 official notification, the positions are open to all eligible candidates with a specialization in departments such as Artificial Intelligence, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Design, Electrical Engineering, Entrepreneurship and Management, Liberal Arts, Materials Science, and Metallurgical Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical, and Aerospace Engineering, and Physics.
As per IIT Hyderabad Recruitment 2023 official notification, applicants must apply online via the provided portal and attach relevant certificates and documents. Women candidates are especially encouraged to apply, and candidates who have earned a Ph.D. from IITH may be considered for a faculty position at IITH after five years from the date of the thesis defense, though exceptional candidates may be considered without fulfilling this condition. As per the Government of India’s rules, reservations for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS are applicable for all positions, including Assistant Professors, Associate Professors, and Professors in the aforementioned departments, and necessary certificates must be included with the application form. Assistant Professor Grade I
Qualification: PhD with first class at all preceding degrees
Experience: At least 3 years of industrial/research/teaching experience after completion of PhD
Age Limit: Expected to be younger than 35 years with age relaxation for various categories
Exceptional cases may be relaxed
Assistant Professor Grade II
Qualification: Ph.D. with first class at all preceding degrees
Experience: Candidates without 3 years’ industrial/research/teaching experience after completion of Ph.D. may be taken as Assistant Professor Grade II
Once selected for this position, the candidate will be considered for the post of Assistant Professor Grade I upon fulfilling the required work experience
Strong record of research publications in reputed journals and referred conferences, patents, etc.
Age Limit: Expected to be younger than 35 years with age relaxation for various categories
Exceptional cases may be relaxed
Associate Professor:
Qualification: Ph.D. with first class at all preceding degrees
Experience: A minimum of 6 years of teaching/research/professional experience, of which 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor, Senior Scientific Officer/Senior Engineer in a research organization or industry.
Strong record of research guidance, sponsored research, publications in reputed journals and referred conferences, patents, etc.
Age Limit: Expected to be younger than 45 years
Exceptional cases may be relaxed
Professor
Qualification: Ph.D. with first class at all preceding degrees
Experience: A minimum of 10 years of teaching/research/professional experience, of which at least 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor in an academic institute or equivalent position in a research organization or industry
Demonstrated leadership in research in a specific area of specialization in terms of guidance of MTech and PhD students, and has a strong record of sponsored research, publications in reputed journals and referred conferences, patents, laboratory/course development and other recognized relevant professional activities.
Age Limit: Expected to be younger than 55 years. Exceptional cases may be relaxed
As per IIT Hyderabad Recruitment 2023 official notification, the salary package is given below:
Assistant Professor Grade I: Minimum pay of Rs. 1,01,500 (Matrix pay level of 12) as per 7th CPC along with admissible allowances
After completion of 3 years of satisfactory service, may be placed in matrix level 13A1
Assistant Professor Grade II:
Minimum pay of Rs. 98,200 (Matrix pay level of 10) as per 7th CPC along with admissible allowances
Seed Grant:
IITH provides a seed grant to new faculty members to get them started on their research
Assistant Professors are eligible for a Seed grant of up to Rs. 30 lakhs, which includes a fellowship for one Ph.D. student for 3 years
Associate Professor: Minimum pay of Rs. 1,39,600 (Matrix pay level of 13A2) as per 7th CPC along with admissible allowances
Professor: Minimum pay of Rs. 1,59,100 (Matrix pay level of 14A) as per 7th CPC along with admissible allowances.
