JEE Mains 2024: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has successfully conducted the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) (JEE Mains) Exam Session 2. Today marks day 4 of the BE and B.Tech exams for the April session, dated April 8, 2024. The examination is split into two shifts: the morning session commencing at 9 am and concluding at 12 noon, and the afternoon session starting at 3 pm and ending at 6 pm. The first shift of the JEE Mains 2024 April 8 Exam concluded at 12 PM.  The next shift is scheduled to commence at 3 PM. It will include multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and numerical value questions.

The session 2 BE and B.Tech exams will wrap up on April 9, while the BArch exam is scheduled for April 12.

Note: No exams will be conducted on April 10 and 11, 2024.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release the Session 2 answer key this week. Students will have approximately 48 hours to check the answer key and raise objections online on jeemain.nta.ac.in.

Exam Pattern Analysis of JEE Main 2024 Session 2

Understanding the exam pattern and marking scheme is important for JEE Main applicants. Below outlines the pattern for the JEE Main 2024 Session 2 exam as mentioned in the official notification:

Question Types:

Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs): These may be single correct answer or multiple correct answer type. The weightage for MCQs with multiple correct answers may be announced separately by the NTA.

Numerical-based questions: These questions involve calculations and necessitate a specific numerical answer. There’s no negative marking for these questions.

Section-wise Breakdown:

Each subject comprises two sections (Section A and Section B).
Section A consists of 20 MCQs (single correct answer type).
Section B consists of 10 numerical-based questions.
Candidates can attempt any 5 questions from Section B.

Marking Scheme:

+4 marks for each correct answer
-1 mark for each incorrect answer
No marks awarded for unattempted questions

Paper Analysis for JEE Main 2024 Session 2 (April 8 )

As per the pattern of last three sessions, experts and students together have suggested that the JEE Main exams of the April Phase shows a balanced difficulty level compared to Session 1. It’s believed that these exam papers will decide the percentiles and rankings based on how well prepared you were. Unlike the previous session, the National Testing Agency (NTA) tried to distribute questions from the same topic across different sets, rather than confining them to a single paper.

Regarding the April 8, 2024, JEE Main Paper, students noted that the question paper’s difficulty level followed the sequence of Mathematics being the toughest than Physics and the easiest of three was Chemistry.
