Job Vacancy for Senior Young Professional at Ministry Of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution

Ministry of Consumer Affairs invites interested candidates to engage 05 (Five) Sr. Young Professionals on

contractual basis research and analytical inputs in the fields of Consumer Protection (CPU), Legal Metrology (LM)
and Price Monitoring (PMD) and various aspects associated with these subjects.

Job Notification is Given Below:

Department of Consumer Affairs seeks to engage 05 (Five) Sr. Young Professionals on contractual basis for physically being present and working on full time basis in the office and providing technical, research and analytical inputs in the fields of Consumer Protection (CPU), Legal Metrology (LM) and Price Monitoring (PMD) and various aspects associated with these subjects and other work areas as assigned from time to time related to Department of Consumer Affairs.

2. The details are as under:

i. Period of contract: Initially for a period of 1 year, can be extended in accordance with DoCA guidelines dated 3rd February, 2022.

ii. Method of recruitment: Contract based, through open market.

iii. Age limit: Candidates should be below 35 years of age on the last date of submission of applications.

iv. Remuneration per month: An initial consolidated amount Rs 70,000/- per month.

v. Essential qualification and experience:

a. CPU: LLM or LLB with 3 year experience and knowledge of computer, MS Office, Excel, Power Point Presentations, Drafting of notices MS Office, Excel, Power Point Presentations, Drafting of notices.

b. LM: LLM or LLB with 3 year experience and knowledge of computers, MS Office, Excel, Legal Data analysis, preparation of para-wise comment, filing of counter affidavits, drafting of legal notices and its replies.

c. PMD: Master’s degree in Economics / Statistics /Maths with specialization in data analytics, data management, data mining or artificial intelligence and minimum 3 year of work experience in relevant field. The candidate should be well versed in using econometric tools in various statistical and econometrics software like R, stata, eviews for data analysis. Candidate should have good computer skills (proficiency in advance MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and excellent oral and written communication skills.

vi. Desirable qualification:

a. CPU: Experience of Consumer Protection Act 2019 with specific reference to issues pertaining to E-commerce Sector and Direct Selling Industries / Sectors.

b. LM: Experience in Legal Metrology Act 2009.

vi. Job Description:

a. CPU

• Drafting of Notice & Replies;
• Drafting of various rules and regulations under Consumer Protection Act 2019;
• To assist in preparing para-wise comments in Court Cases (High Court / Supreme Court);
• To tender legal advice on various issues relating to Consumer Protection Act 2019;
• To assist and provide inputs for Parliament Questions;
• Any other item of work related to above.

b. LM

• To assist in preparing para-wise comments in Court Cases (High Court /Supreme Court);
• To assist in drafting various rules and regulations under Legal Metrology Act;
• To tender legal advise on various issues relating to Legal Metrology Act;
• To assist and provide inputs for Parliament Questions;
• Any other item of work related to above.

c. PMD

• Work related to forecasting and prediction of prices, production of food commodities and other key economic variables using econometric softwares I packages;
• Writing summary reports on the models used in forecasting and prediction and major findings and conclusions;
• In addition, any other task as assigned by the Department which requires special technical skill and knowledge in statistics I data analysis.
