The Madras High Court Recruitment 2023 Official Advertisement has arisen with 50 (Including Vacancies arising out of creation of New Courts/Retirements) Vacancies to be filled up in the High Court of Judicature, Madras. Based on the Madras High Court Recruitment 2023 Official Notification the Willing Candidates duly Eligible for District Judge (Entry Level) Post may apply Online. The Online Registration/Application is in progress. Based on the Madras High Court Recruitment 2023 Official Notification, the Terminus Date for Online Application/Registration will close on 31.07.2023.

The Eligibility for District Judge (Entry Level) in accordance with the Madras High Court Recruitment 2023 Official Notification:

Educational & Other Qualifications:

The Applicants should have in possession the following Qualification:

i) Bachelor of Legal Laws/Graduate Degree in Laws of a University in India established or incorporated by or under a Central Act or a State Act or an Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission, or any other Equivalent Qualification and got enrolled in the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu or in the Bar Council of any other State.

ii) Must be practicing (on the Date of Notification) as an Advocate and must have so practiced for Minimum 07 Years as on such Date.

iii) With regard to Assistant Public Prosecutor-Grade I or Assistant Public Prosecutor Grade-II, they must gained Minimum 07 Years’ Experience as an Advocate and/or Assistant Public Prosecutor on the Date of this Notification.

Note:

i) The Educational Qualifications prescribed for the District Judge (Entry Level) Post should have been obtained in the order of Study, viz., 10th/ SSLC Plus HSC or its equivalent with the Bachelor’s Degree in Law.

ii) The Applicants, having graduated in Law from the Academic Year 2009-2010 and thereafter, must have also passed the All India Bar Examination (AIBE), conducted by the Bar Council of India (BCI) within the period prescribed.

iii) The Advocate shall need to submit the Educational Credentials, Enrolment Certificate issued by the Bar Council and also the Experience Certificate indicating the length of his/her Practice, as provided in Annexure – B, from the Presiding Officer of the Court in which He/She is actually practising, in original, whenever called for.

iv) If the candidate is an Assistant Public Prosecutor, so he/she shall have to furnish/produce the Educational Credentials, Enrolment Certificate issued by the Bar Council and also the Service Certificate, indicating the length of his/her service, as per Annexure-B, from the Director of Prosecution concerned, in original, whenever called for, along with “No Objection Certificate”.

v) In the case of the Applicants practicing as Advocates in the High Court of Madras, such Certificate of Practice should be obtained from the Registrar (Judicial) at the Principal Seat or in the Madurai Bench of the High Court, as the case may be.

vi) In the case of the Applicants practicing as Advocates in the High Courts of other States and the Supreme Court of India, New Delhi, such Certificate should be obtained from the Registrar, who is in charge of the Judicial side of respective High Court or the Supreme Court of India, New Delhi, as the case may be.

vii) All the applicants shall be required to produce Individual Character and Conduct Certificate, as provided in Annexure-A, issued by any Senior Advocate or Counsel or any Advocate who has a Standing of Minimum 10 Years at the Bar and the other 02 obtained from Responsible Persons, not being any relative but who is well acquainted with him/her in his/her Private Life, in Original, whenever called for.

Selection Process vide Madras High Court Recruitment 2023:

Selection Process for the Post District Judge (Entry Level) in the Tamil Nadu State Judicial Service, governed by the Tamil Nadu State Judicial Service (Cadre and Recruitment) Rules 2007, as amended [hereinafter referred to as “the Rules”] vide the High Court Recruitment 2023 Official Notification:

The Selection Process for District Judge (Entry Level) consists of 03 Stages; i) OMR Answer Sheet-Based Preliminary Test, ii) Main Written Examination and iii) Viva-voce. Final Selection for District Judge (Entry Level) Posts shall be carried through based on Merit determined by taking into account the Combined Marks obtained in the Main Written Examination and Viva-voce.

i) OMR Answer Sheet-Based Preliminary Test shall consist of 02 Papers for 200 Marks

ii) The Main Written Examination carries Maximum 300 Marks iii) Viva-voce

iii) Viva-voce shall be for 100 Marks.

Examination Fee for Madras High Court Recruitment 2023:

The Examination Fee, in accordance with the Madras High Court Recruitment 2023 Official Notification to be borne Online remains as follows:

Persons other than the Reserved Community Candidates Tamil Nadu State and Candidates from other States/Union Territories to remit Online Examination Fee: Rs.2000 (Rupees Two Thousand) only.
