Ministry of Earth Science Recruitment 2023: Ministry of Earth Science is inviting applications from eligible Indian candidates for the post of Junior Research Fellow Program on a contract basis. As per the Ministry of Earth Science Recruitment 2023 official notification, there are 15 vacancies. Selected candidates will be appointed for a tenure of 04 years as followed in DST norms.

The upper age limit is relaxed by 05 years for SC, ST, Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD), Women candidates, 03 years for OBC (Non-creamy layer) candidates and as per rule for ex-servicemen. Selected candidates will get a monthly salary of Rs. 31000 plus admissible HRA. Candidates will be selected through a written test or personal interview. CMLRE- MRFP-01
Candidates should have M.Sc. Marine Biology/Marine Sciences/ Fisheries Sciences. Candidates with Knowledge in marine fish/crustacean taxonomy and systematics will be preferred.
BGRL – MRFP-01
Candidates should have M.Sc. / M.Sc. (Tech.) in Geophysics / Applied Geophysics / Seismology (with Solid Earth Geophysics as a major). Candidates with Experience in data acquisition/analyses in Borehole Geophysics or Seismology with a sound base in computational methods will be preferred.
NCPOR – MRFP-01
Candidates should have M.Sc. in Physics / Atmospheric Science/Physical Oceanography/ Mathematics/ Earth Sciences (with Meteorology as major)/ Climate Sciences OR M.Tech. in Atmospheric/ Ocean Sciences. Candidates with Knowledge in the general circulation of atmosphere/ Dynamic Meteorology/Climate data/Oceanic circulation/ programming languages like Fortran/ Python/NCL/MATLAB will be preferred.
NCPOR – MRFP-02
Candidates should have M.Sc. in Geology / Geological sciences. Candidates with Knowledge in petrology and geochemistry of rocks will be preferred.
NCPOR – MRFP-03
Candidates should have M.Sc. in / Environmental Science /Biotechnology/ Chemistry OR M. Tech/M.E. in Environmental/ Chemical Engineering. Candidates with Experience in handling analytical instruments, and water/air quality analysis and microbiological analysis will be preferred.
NCPOR – MRFP-04
Candidates should have M.Sc. in Marine Science/Physical Oceanography/ Physics/Earth Sciences (with Oceanography as a subject)/Remote Sensing & GIS OR M.Tech in Physical Oceanography. Candidates with Knowledge of the general circulation of Oceans with experience in processing field data (Oceanographic and meteorological data) using languages like ENVI/Fortran/ python/NCL/ ArcGIS; Matlab; and ArcGIS will be preferred.

A properly formed Screening Committee will evaluate applications for the positions based on the eligibility requirements listed and may add additional criteria as judged necessary to narrow the field of candidates for written exams or interviews. A written test may be used by IITM to narrow the field of applicants if several applications for open jobs are received. The only goal of this test is to narrow down applicants for interviews. After a candidate is chosen for an interview, the written test scores won’t be taken into account in the final hiring decision. Only the interview score will be used to determine the final decision.
