Ministry of Earth Sciences Recruitment 2023: The National Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasting (NCMRWF), under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, is looking for eligible candidates to fill up various project posts. As per the Ministry of Earth Sciences Recruitment 2023 official notification, candidates will be recruited for 35 vacancies under its four projects Numerical Modelling of Weather and Climate (NMWC), BCWC, Monsoon Mission-III and HPC. The vacant positions are purely contractual and are renewable annually, up to March 2026, dependent on the candidate’s good performance at the conclusion of each fiscal year. The upper age limit of eligible and interested candidates should be between 28 to 45 years for all mentioned posts. The shortlisted candidates will be paid a monthly salary up to Rs.78,000.

For Project Scientist-III
Candidates should have a Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Applications/ Information Technology or an equivalent topic from a recognised university with at least 60% marks (equivalent CGPA) at the qualifying degree level.
For Project Scientist-II
Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in engineering/technology in mechanical/computer science or a similar area from an accredited university with a minimum of 60% (equivalent CGPA) in a master’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering/technology.
For JRF/SRF
Candidates must have passed the NET/CSIR-UGC/GATE/JEST or other national-level examinations administered by Central Government Departments, Agencies, and Institutions.

Candidates will be involved in the development of applications and draught specifications to benchmark phased acquisition/upgrade of HPCS/computer network/high-performance storage systems.
For Project Scientist-II
Applicants will be in charge of research and development on Meteorological data processing and quality control procedures, Data Assimilation, Numerical modelling of the atmosphere and ocean, Diagnostic tools, Ensemble prediction approaches, and Remote Sensing Applications.
