Ministry of External Affairs Recruitment 2022: The Central Passport Organization, a subordinate office of the Ministry of External Affairs intends to fill up the posts of Passport officer and Deputy Passport Officer in Passport Offices at stations indicated below from the officers of the Central Government on deputation basis. There are 24 vacancies available.

The Period of deputation including the period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organization or department of the Central Government shall ordinarily not exceed three years.

The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation should not be more than 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications. The salary of a Passport Officer is between Rs. 78800 to Rs. 209200 and Deputy Passport Officer is between Rs. 67700 to Rs. 208700.

Earlier the last date to apply was 07.08.2022, now it has been extended to 19.08.2022.

Eligibility for Ministry of External Affairs Recruitment 2022

Passport Officer:

a. Holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre or Department; or

b. With five years service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in posts in Level-11 m the pay matrix or equivalent in the parent cadre or Department; and

Possessing the following educational qualifications and experience:-

a. Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University or Institute; and

b. Nine years experience in Passport or Consular or Emigration or Administration or Finance or Accounts or Vigilance work or Public Grievances.

Deputy Passport officer

a. Holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre or Department; or

b. With five years service in Level- 10 of the pay matrix rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in the parent cadre or Department; and

Possessing the following educational qualifications and experience :

a. Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University or Institute; and

b. Five years experience in Passport or Consular or Emigration or Administration or Finance or Accounts or Vigilance work or Public Grievances.

Note: All Ministries/Departments of Government of India are requested to circulate the above posts amongst the officers of Central Government and forward the application(s) (in prescribed proforma Annexure A) of eligible and interested officers, along with attested copies of APARs of last five years attested by Under Secretary or above level officer and certificates to the effect that they are clear from Vigilance angle, Integrity Certificate and Major/Minor Penalty of last ten years to the undersigned within thirty days from the date of issuance
