The Period of deputation including the period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other Organisation or Department of the Central Government shall ordinarily not exceed four years.

Candidates should have a degree in law from a recognized University or equivalent. Candidates should have twelve years of experience in dealing with fiscal laws including provisions of the Income Tax Act, Customs Act, FEMA, FERA, or Criminal Laws.
