Pay Matrix Level under Ministry of Home Affairs Recruitment 2023:

Based on the Ministry of Home Affairs Recruitment 2023 Official Notification, the Individuals selected for Junior Scientific Officer (Ballistics) Post,  shall be entitled to the Monthly Salary in the Pay Matrix Level 07 post-Appointment, to be read hereunder:

Pay Matrix: Level-07 (Rs. 44900-142400) of Pay Matrix under Central Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules 2016.

Total Emoluments excluding T.A. & HRA at the time of Initial Appointment will be Rs.44900 Plus Dearness Allowance as applicable Per Month.

Upper Age Limits under Ministry of Home Affairs Recruitment 2023:

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs Recruitment 2023 Official Notification, the following Category-wise and Reserved Community-specific Age Limits (as on the Closing Date 13.07.2023) are to be read hereunder:

1) The Un-Reserved Category: The Candidate should not exceed 30 Years.

2) The Upper Age Limitation remains Relaxable for Regularly Appointed Central Government/Union Territory Government Servants up to 05 Years as per the instructions issued by the Government of India from time to time.

3) For Age Concessions applicable to some other Categories of Applicants, the Applicants should refer to the relevant Paragraphs of the “Instructions and Additional Information to Candidates for Recruitment by Selection” of the UPSC-issued Ministry of Home Affairs Recruitment 2023 Official Advertisement.

Eligibility Criteria for Ministry of Home Affairs Recruitment 2023:

The Eligibility, in accordance with the Ministry of Home Affairs Recruitment 2023 Official Notification, comprising the Educational Qualification(s) and Experience Mandatory for the Applicants may be read as follows:

Essential Qualification(s):  The Willing Eligible Candidates should have the Eligibility comprising the Educational and Desirable Qualifications narrated hereunder:

A) Essential Qualification(s):

The Eligibility, in accordance with the UPSC issued Ministry of Home Affairs Recruitment 2023 Official Employment Notification for the Junior Scientific Officer (Ballistics) comprising the Essential Educational Qualification(s) and Experience as is narrated therein for the Applicants should be read as follows:

Essential Criteria: The Willing Candidates with Eligibility should have the Eligibility comprising the Educational and Desirable Qualifications narrated hereunder:

I) Educational:

I) Educational: A Master’s Degree in Physics/Mathematics/Applied Mathematics/Forensic Science with Physics Or Mathematics as one of the Subjects during all 03-Years’ Bachelor of Science Level from any Duly Recognized University.

II) Experience: 03-Years’ Experience in Research and Analytical Work in the field of Ballistics in any Central/State Organization Or any Accredited Institute Or University/Forensic Science Laboratories under the Central Government and State Government.

Desirable Qualification(s): Experience of Working in any Forensic Science Laboratory.

Note: The Educational Qualifications and the Qualifications with regard to Experience in respect of the Candidates, otherwise well-qualified, are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission.

Selection Procedure under Ministry of Home Affairs Recruitment 2023:

Based on the Ministry of Home Affairs Recruitment 2023 Official Notification issued, the Union Public Service Commission shall carry through the Recruitment Test Selection with Other Criteria for the Notified Junior Scientific Officer (Ballistics) Post also explained hereunder:

Recruitment Methodology:

In the event the Applications relatively received in large number from the Applicants, the Union Public Service Commission may adopt the Shortlisting Criteria to restrict the number to only Eligible Candidates to be called in for the Interview to a Reasonable Number by Any or More of the Methodologies as mentioned hereunder:

i) “Based on the Desirable Qualification (DQ) or any one or all of the Desirable Qualifications (DQs), in case more than one Desirable Qualification is prescribed”.

ii) Based on the Higher Educational Qualifications than the Minimum prescribed in the Ministry of Home Affairs Recruitment 2023 Official Notification.

iii) On the basis of the Higher Experience in the relevant field than the Minimum prescribed in the Ministry of Home Affairs Recruitment 2023 Official Advertisement.

iv) By reckoning the Prior Professional Work-Experience before or Post-acquired Essential Qualifications of the Candidate Applicants.

v) By invoking the Prior Work Experience even in cases where there is No Experience mentioned Either as Essential Qualification (EQ) Or as Desirable Qualification (DQ).

vi) By holding a Recruitment Test (RT).

Note-II: Minimum Qualifying/Pass Marks:

As has been explained in the Ministry of Home Affairs Recruitment 2023 Official Notification for Selection on Junior Scientific Officer (Ballistics)  in the Directorate of Forensic Science Services (DoFSS), Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), Ministry of Home Affairs, Viva-voce/Personality Test carries Total 100 Marks with the Minimum Qualifying/Pass Marks for Selection to be read hereunder:

I) The Category-wise Minimum Level of Suitability in the Interviews (100 Marks), irrespective of whether the Selection is conducted only through Interview or by holding a Recruitment Test (RT) to be followed by the Interview, shall remain as hereunder:

i) Un-Reserved (UR)  Category: Minimum Qualifying 50 Marks to be secured out of Aggregate 100 Marks

ii) Economically Weaker Sections (EWS): 50 Marks

iii) Other Backward Community: 45 Marks

iv) Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Persons with Benchmark Disability/ies (PwBD/s): 40 Marks.

II) In the cases where Selection is carried through by Recruitment Test (RT) followed by the Personal Interview, the Candidate will have to attain the Minimum Level of Suitability in their respective Categories in the course of the Interview Stage.
