Ministry of Home Affairs Recruitment 2023: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has called in Online Applications from Officers duly meeting the Eligibility in reference to the Ministry of Home Affairs Recruitment 2023 of Scientist ‘B’ (Chemistry) in the Directorate of Forensic Science Services (DFSS), Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), New Delhi.
The UPSC notified 02 Vacancies to be filled up with Appointment on Scientist ‘B’ (Chemistry) Post under Pay Scale Level 10 (Rs.56100 to 177500) in Pay Matrix as per CCS (R.P.) Rules 2016 are earmarked for the Un-Reserved Category Candidates. As per Ministry of Home Affairs Recruitment 2023 Notification issued for Scientist ‘B’ (Chemistry) the Eligible Candidates need to complete the Online Recruitment Application (ORA) Process up to 12th January 2023 (12.01.2023) the Last Date.
Note I: The Candidate should mention all His or Her Qualifications and Experience in the relevant Field over and above the Minimum Qualifications.

Post Classification: General Central Service, Group ‘A’, Gazetted, Non-Ministerial
Employment nature: The Post is Permanent
Vacancy: 02 Nos. (Earmarked for Un-Reserved Category Candidates)
Posting Location: Ministerial Head Quarters, New Delhi
1) The Un-Reserved Category Candidates should NOT exceed 35 Years as on 12.01.2023 the normal Closing Date.
2) The Upper Age Limit remains Relaxable for Regularly Appointed Central Government/Union Territory Government Servants up to 05 Years as per the instructions issued by the Government of India from time to time.
3) For Age concession applicable to some other Categories of Applicants (Refer to the relevant Paragraphs of the ‘Instructions and Additional Information to Candidates for Recruitment by Selection).
The Eligibility comprising the Educational Qualification and Experience essential for THE Applicants are as follows:
A) Educational Qualification: Master’s Degree in Chemistry/Biochemistry/Forensic Science with Chemistry as one of the Subjects during all the 03-Years’ Bachelor of Science from any Accredited University or Institute.
Important Note: The Educational Qualifications (prescribed under the Ministry of Home Affairs) remain relaxable at the UPSC’s discretion for reasons to be recorded in writing, in respect of the Candidates otherwise well-qualified.
B) Experience: 03-Years’ Experience of Analytical Methods and Research therein in the Chemistry domain in any Government accredited Organization/Institution.
The Union Public Service Commission shall carry through the Recruitment Test Selection and Other Criteria vide the Ministry of Home Affairs Recruitment 2023 explained hereunder
Recruitment Methodology:
In the event of the Applications received in a large number from Applicants, the Union Public Service Commission will adopt the Shortlisting Criteria in order to restrict the number of Eligible Candidates to be called in for the Interview to a Reasonable Number by Any or More of the Methodologies as mentioned hereunder:
a) “On the basis of Desirable Qualification (DQ) or any one or all of the Desirable Qualifications (DQs) if more than one Desirable Qualification is prescribed”.
b) Based on Higher Educational Qualifications than the Minimum prescribed in the Ministry of Home Affairs Recruitment 2023 Notification.
c) On the basis of Higher Experience in the relevant field than the Minimum prescribed in the Ministry of Home Affairs Recruitment 2023 Advertisement.
d) By reckoning the Prior Professional Work-Experience before or Post-acquiring Essential Qualifications of the Candidate Applicants.
e) By invoking the Prior Work Experience even in cases where there is No Experience mentioned Either as Essential Qualification (EQ) Or as Desirable Qualification (DQ).
f) By holding a Recruitment Test (RT).
Note-II: Important Points:
Viva-voce/Personality Test weighs Total 100 Marks explained as hereunder:
i) The Category-wise Minimum Level of Suitability in the Interviews (100 Marks), irrespective of whether the Selection is conducted only through Interview or by holding a Recruitment Test (RT) to be followed by the Interview, shall remain:
a) Un-Reserved Minimum Qualifying 50 Marks to be secured out of Aggregate 100 Marks.
b) Economically Weaker Sections 50 Marks.
c) Other Backward Community: 45 Marks,
d) Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Caste/Persons with Benchmark Disability/ies (PwBD/s): 40 Marks.
ii) In cases where Selection is carried through by Recruitment Test (RT) followed by the Personal Interview, the Candidate will have to attain the Minimum Level of Suitability in their respective Categories in the course of the Interview Stage.
a) The Candidates shall need to pay an Application Fee of Rs. 25.00 (Rupees Twenty-five only) only either by remitting the Money in any Branch of the State Bank of India through Cash or by using the Net-banking Facility of the State Bank of India or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card.
b) Reserved Community (SC/ST/PwBDs) and Women Candidates under any Community remain Exempt from paying the Application Fee.
i) Eligible and Willing Candidates should visit the USPC ORA Website for completing the Online Application Process.
ii) Carefully Read the Online Application/Registration Instructions available on the UPSC ORA Portal.
iii) Initiate the Online Application Process as per the Instructions on the Online Registration Application Portal.
iv) Scan Signature and the Most-recent Passport-size Photograph for uploading with Online Registered Application (ORA).
v) Ready Self-attested Documents to be uploaded UPSC Online Registration of Application.
vi) Remit the Application Fee Online through Payment Gateway Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking, etc.
