NEET 2024 Results: Grace Marks Offered to Candidates by NTA for Loss Of Exam Time

NEET 2024 Results: As you all know that the NEET 2024 Results are declared yesterday, i.e. June 4, 2024. So, many candidates raised court cases and representation raising concerns to NTA of loss of time during the conduct of NEET 2024 Examination which was conducted on May 5, 2024. NTA considered all the cases and representation and devised the normalistaion formula and it is adopted by Hon’ble Apex Court. Judgement dated 13.06.2018 was implemented to address the loss of time faced by candidates while appearing for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) Exam 2024. Candidates who faced loss of time in the NEET Exam 2024 were awarded with the grace marks by National testing Agency (NTA). Total 67 candidates were given NEET AIR 1 with 99.997129 percentile course.

The NEET UG 2024 results were declared yesterday. NTA said that “The loss of examination time was ascertained and such candidates were compensated with grace marks. So, candidate’s marks can be 718 or 719 also“. Many candidates pointed out that category-wise NEET toppers marks for (SC) was removed in the latest notification of NEET Result and questioned for clarification for 718 and 719 marks. Marking Scheme denotes that for each correct answer 4 marks are given and for each incorrect answer 1 mark is deducted. So, out of 720 marks, the second highest marks that can be scored by a candidate is 716. The NEET scorecard of the candidates who secured 718 and 719 marks are viral and circulated on social media.

Grace Marks Awarded in NEET 2024
A candidate wrote on X (Formerly Twitter) that “Dear NTA, This is too much how can it be possible for a student to get 718 or 719 and why didn’t this happen before???? Why is it happening for the first time? This has to be answered properly not like this. Why are you neglecting to answer? Where is the answer for the leak?”
Another NEET candidate said that: “In my centre we received the paper late by 20 minutes hence loss of time so we should received such grace marks to. How do you know only they had only loss of time when under your posts lacs of students told about loss of time. Why loss of time didn’t happen last year years before”
Another students said sharing a screenshot of topper list shared by NTA: “From serial no. 62 to serial no. 69, all have similar roll numbers, so they might have given exam at same particular centre.” Below is the screenshot shared by the candidate.
