NIA Recruitment 2022: The National Investigation Agency (NIA), Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), New Delhi, has sought Applications with Willingness from the Eligible Candidates in respect of Engagement/Empanelment of Legal Consultants as Public Prosecutors (PP)/Senior Public Prosecutors (SPPs) on Contractual Basis. Among such Competent Advocates Practicing as Lawyers, who deem to have duly met the Eligibility Criteria for the Post Public Prosecutors/ Senior Public Prosecutors/Legal Consultants and are keen to apply for the same, they may proceed with applying in a Prescribed Proforma together with the Testimonials. The Last Date for receipt of the Candidates’ Applications stipulated is 2nd October 2022 (02.10.2022). There are 06 Vacancies for the Post Empanelment / Engagement of Public Prosecutors/Senior Public Prosecutors.

Essential Documents for Submission: Eligible Applicants should complete the Applications in all respects and append the Requisite Documents/Testimonials; including the Confidential Report (CR) Dossier; viz., a) Retirement Proof; b) Educational Certificates; c) Serving Experience, d) Pension Pay Order (PPO), e) Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), f) Preceding 03 Years’ Annual Confidential Reports (ACRs) /Annual Performance Assessment Reports (APARs) countersigned by the Cadre Controlling Authority or the Head under the Employer Organization.

Selection Process: The National Investigation Agency upon Detailed Scrutiny of the Applications received and Candidates’ Antecedent furnished in the Applications, shall screen the Input for shortlisting only Eligible Candidates for Personal Interaction and would summon such Persons to report with the Essential Testimonials for Interaction.

Tenure: Among Eligible Candidates selected as Legal Consultants/Public Prosecutors/Senior Public Prosecutors, they will be Engaged initially for 01 Year.  However, the Engagement Assignment may be further extended subject to the Administrative Requirements and Incumbent’s Performance in the course of Services offered to the National Investigation Agency.

Employment Caption: Applications/Willingness For Engagement/Empanelment For Engagement of Public Prosecutors

Post Nomenclature: Public Prosecutors (Contractual Basis): 06 Vacancies

Nature of Engagement/Empanelment: Contractual Basis with 01 Year’s Tenure. However, Engagement is Further Extendable at Pre-stipulated Rs. 80000 (Consolidated) Per Month.

Posting Locations: All of the NIA Establishments including New Delhi, Bhopal, Bengaluru, Guwahati, Ahmedabad, Jammu and Kashmir Union Territories, Patna, Hyderabad, Raipur, Jaipur, and various other cities.

Eligibility: The Candidates should have earned prominence as Competent Advocates.

Educational Qualification: The Legum Baccalaureus or Bachelor of Legal Laws Degree from any Duly Recognized University established by Law of the Government of India.

Desirable Experience: 07 Years’ Experience at the Bar Council of India (BCI) or the State Bar Council (SBC) in conducting Criminal Cases in the Courts of the Laws.

The Candidates shall be issued an Appointment Engagement as the Public Prosecutors at a Fixed Consolidated Monthly Remuneration initially for a period of One (01) Year, which may be extended beyond One Year depending upon the requirement of the National Investigation Agency and the Incumbent’s Individual Performance Review as Public Prosecutor but shall not be extended beyond 05 Years after Superannuation.

Engagement of the Public Prosecutors would be on a Full-Time Basis and they would not be permitted to take up any other assignment during the Period of Investigation Expert Consultancy with the National Investigation Agency, Ministry of Home Affairs.
The Engagement of the Public Prosecutors would be of a Temporary nature against the Tasks assigned.

The National Investigation Agency, Ministry of Home Affairs, may rescind the Incumbent’s Engagement at any time without assigning any reason.
