Essential Qualification for PGCIL Recruitment 2022

Course: Full Time B.E./ B.Tech/ B.Sc (Engg.) from recognized University/ Institute.

For Electrical: Electrical/ Electrical (Power)/ Electrical and Electronics/ Power Systems Engineering/ Power Engineering (Electrical).

For Electronics: Electronics / Electronics & Communication/ Electronics & Telecommunication/ Electronics & Electrical Communication / Telecommunication Engg.

For Civil: Civil Engineering

For Computer Science: Computer Science/ Computer Engg./ Information Technology

Percentage of Marks: Minimum 60% or Equivalent CGPA.

Students in their final year or semester who anticipate receiving their final grades by August 14, 2023, are also eligible to apply, provided they received a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 60% in all prior semesters or years up to the pre-final test. If chosen, their eligibility is contingent on receiving a minimum of 60% in the required qualifications. Such applicants must provide their pre-final test marks when completing the online POWERGRID application.

Selection Process for PGCIL Recruitment 2022

The selection process includes a group discussion, a personal interview, and the marks earned (out of 100) on the equivalent GATE 2023 exam.

Candidates who meet the requirements must take the relevant GATE 2023 exam, which includes Electrical Engineering (EE), Electronics and Communication (EC), Civil Engineering (CE), and Computer Science Engineering (CS). Only those candidates who passed the applicable GATE 2023 exam will be considered for the next round of hiring. The conducting authority for GATE 2023 will determine the qualifying marks.

Based on their normalized marks out of 100 in GATE 2023, in the relevant paper, qualified applicants will be shortlisted category-wise for Group Discussion & Personal Interview. Candidates may participate in the GD/Interview in either Hindi or English. Using their login credentials at the POWERGRID Online Application System, candidates can check their status. Through the candidate login, shortlisted candidates can get their interview call letter and other pertinent papers.

How to Apply and Important Points for PGCIL Recruitment 2022

1. Candidates have to register themselves and appear for the corresponding paper of GATE 2023.

2. For details on GATE 2023, please visit https://gate.iitk.ac.in/.

3. Starting on January 10, 2023, a separate notice will be posted on our website with information on the number of openings, reservations, crucial instructions for submitting a POWERGRID online application, the date of the interview, etc (Tentative).

4. The POWERGRID application window will be open from January 16, 2023, through February 18, 2023. (Tentative). The GATE 2023 Application No., GATE 2023 Registration No., and other necessary information must be entered during the online registration process at the POWERGRID website. This information is available in the CAREER area of the website at www.powergrid.in.

5. Candidates SC/ST/PwD/Ex-SM/Departmental are excused from paying the application fee. You must first log in to your candidate login area before making a nonrefundable application fee deposit of Rs. 500 online only. Your application process will be completed after the application payments have been submitted.

6. Candidates must keep their GATE 2023 score card and admit card for verification purposes at the time of the GD, interview, pre-employment physical, and joining POWERGRID.
