SSB Recruitment 2023: The Office of the Director General, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) is inviting online applications from eligible candidates to fill up the posts of Head Constable (Electrician), Head Constable(Mechanic), Head Constable (Steward), Head Constable(Veterinary), and Head Constable (Communication). The job nature is temporary but expected to continue. As per SSB Recruitment 2023 official notification, there are a total of 914 vacancies available for various posts across different categories. Selected candidates can be posted anywhere in India or outside India. Candidates belonging to age group 18 to 27 years are eligible to apply for various posts.
In accordance with the official notification for SSB Recruitment 2023, candidates will have to pay an application fee of Rs 100 to apply for the released post. A candidate can apply for a maximum of one position only. The hired candidates will be entitled to receive basic pay in pay matrix level-4 (Rs 25500-81100) apart from the applicable allowances. Eligible and desirous candidates must immediately visit the official website of the SSB to apply for the released vacancies. The last date to submit the online application form is 30 days from the date of publication of the advertisement in the Employment News which amounts to 18th June 2023.
As per SSB Recruitment 2023 official notification, there are a total of 914 vacancies available for Head Constable (Electrician), Head Constable(Mechanic), Head Constable (Steward), Head Constable(Veterinary), and Head Constable (Communication) posts across various categories. The post of Head Constable(Mechanic) is available only for male candidates. 10% of the total vacancies are reserved for Ex-Servicemen. According to the details given in the official notification for SSB Recruitment 2023, candidates must fulfill the age criteria mentioned below for various posts:
Head Constable (Mechanic – Male only): Between 21 – 27 years, as of the closing date of the application form, i.e., June 18, 2023. Candidates from reserved categories will be given upper age relaxation as per the rules of the Government of India.
Head Constable (Electrician, Steward, Veterinary, and Communication): Between 18- 25 years, as of the closing date of the application form, i.e., June 18, 2023. Candidates from reserved categories will be given upper age relaxation as per the rules of the Government of India.
As per the official notification for SSB Recruitment 2023, candidates must satisfy the following eligibility criteria for various posts:
Head Constable (Electrician)
Essential Eligibility: Candidates should have obtained a Matriculation or equivalent certificate from a recognized Board. Candidates should also have obtained two years of work experience in the respective trade or a One-year certificate course from a recognized Industrial Training Institute or Vocational Institute with at least one year of experience in the respective trade or 2 years of Diploma from a recognized Industrial Training Institute in the respective trade or similar trade. Candidates must also pass the trade test.
Head Constable (Steward)
Essential Qualification: Candidates should have passed class 10th or equivalent from a recognized board. Candidates should also have a Diploma or Catering Kitchen Management certificate from a reputed educational institution.
Essential Experience: Candidates must have obtained 1 year of experience in a similar job in a hotel of repute.
Head Constable (Communication)
Essential Qualification: Candidates must possess an Intermediate or equivalent pass certificate in Science with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognized Board or University, or
a three-year diploma in Electronics or Communications, Computer Science, or Information Technology from a recognized Institute.

According to SSB Recruitment 2023 official notification, the released vacancies belong to the Group-‘C’ Non-Gazetted (Combatised) class in Sashastra Seema Bal, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The vacancies are currently being filled on a temporary basis but the service of selected candidates will likely continue. Selected candidates will be liable to serve anywhere in India or outside India.
According to the details mentioned in the official notification for SSB Recruitment 2023, the hired candidates will be entitled to receive a basic pay of Rs 25000-81100 (Level-4 in Pay Matrix) per month. Apart from the basic pay, selected candidates will get various allowances such as Dearness Allowance, Ration Money Allowance, House Rent Allowance, etc.
