UPSC Recruitment 2023: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has called in Online Applications from Candidates for Junior Translation Officer (JTO) Posts in the Ministry of Labor and Employment, Government of India. As per the UPSC Recruitment 2023 Notification for Junior Translation Officer Posts in the Ministry of Labour and Employment, there are overall 76 Vacancies, inclusive of 36 Vacancies for the Un-Reserved Category Candidates.
Deemed to be Eligible Candidates for the Post Jr Translation Officer Posts under the Pay Scale Level 06 and willing to be Applicants for the Position notified vide the UPSC Recruitment 2023 Advertisement, may proceed with completing the Online Recruitment Application Process following the Instructions explained therein. The Last Date for all the Intending Eligible Candidates remains the 2nd Date of February 2023 (02.02.2023).
As per the UPSC Recruitment 2023, the UPSC has notified 76 Vacancies to be filled up with Appointment on the Post Junior Translation Officer under the Pay Scale Level 06 in the Ministry of Labor and Employment include i) General Category: 36 Vacancies, ii) Economically Weaker Section: 05 Nos., iii) Other Backward Class: 20 Nos., SCs: 08 Nos., ST; 07 Nos. and *PwBDs: 03 Nos. overall out of 76 Vacancies notified vide the UPSC Recruitment 2023 Advertisement issued for the purpose.
In view of the UPSC Recruitment 2023 Notification issued with reference to Junior Translation Officer Posts in the Ministry of Labour and Employment among the Eligible Candidates Willing to be apply should complete the Online Recruitment Application (ORA) Process only up to 2nd February 2023 (02.02..2023), the Last Date.
Note-I: While completing the Online Application Process, To-be Eligible Candidates should fill Individual Qualifications and Experience in the relevant Field over and above the Minimum Qualifications in Online Recruitment Applications with reference to the UPSC Recruitment 2023 Notification.

Upper Age Limits under UPSC Recruitment 2023:
1) The Un-Reserved Category Candidates should NOT exceed 30 Years as on 02.02.2023 the Normal Closing Date.
2) The Upper Age Limit remains Relaxable for Regularly Appointed Central Government/Union Territory Government Servants up to 05 Years as per the instructions issued by the Government of India from time to time.
3) For Age concession applicable to some other Categories of Applicants (Refer to the relevant Paragraphs of the ‘Instructions and Additional Information to Candidates for Recruitment by Selection’)
According to the UPSC Recruitment 2023 Notification The Eligibility comprising the Educational Qualification(s) and Experience essential for the Applicants in respect of Junior Translation Officers are as follows:
Educational Qualifications:
A) Master’s Degree from any Accredited University in Hindi with English as a Compulsory/Elective Subject/as the medium of Examination at the Degree Level. Or
Master’s Degree from any Duly Recognized University in English with Hindi as a Compulsory/Elective Subject/as the Medium of Examination at the Degree Level; Or
Master’s Degree from any Duly Recognized University in any Subject other than Hindi/English, with Hindi Medium and English as a Compulsory/Elective Subject/as the medium of Examination at the Degree Level. Or
Master’s Degree from any Duly Recognized University in any Subject other than Hindi/English, with English Medium and Hindi as a Compulsory/Elective Subject/as the Medium of Examination at the Degree Level; Or
Master’s Degree from any Duly Recognized University in any Subject other than Hindi/English, with Hindi and English as a Compulsory/ Elective Subject/Either of the Two as a Medium of Examination and the other as a Compulsory/Elective Subject at the Degree Level; And
B) Duly University Recognized Diploma/Certificate Course in Translation from Hindi to English and vice versa/02-Years’ Experience of Translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in the Central Government/State Government Office including the Government of India Undertaking.
Note: The Qualifications, in case of Candidates otherwise well-qualified, are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission.
The Union Public Service Commission shall carry through the Recruitment Test Selection and Other Criteria vide the UPSC Recruitment 2023 Notification explained hereunder:
Recruitment Methodology:
In the event of the Applications received in a large number from Applicants, the Union Public Service Commission will adopt the Shortlisting Criteria aimed at restricting the number of only Eligible Candidates to be called in for the Interview to a Reasonable Number by Any or More of the Methodologies as mentioned hereunder:
a) “On the basis of Desirable Qualification (DQ) or any one or all of the Desirable Qualifications (DQs) if more than one Desirable Qualification is prescribed”.
b) Based on Higher Educational Qualifications than the Minimum prescribed in the Ministry of Home Affairs Recruitment 2023 Notification.
c) On the basis of Higher Experience in the relevant field than the Minimum prescribed in the Ministry of Home Affairs Recruitment 2023 Advertisement.
d) By reckoning the Prior Professional Work-Experience before or Post-acquiring Essential Qualifications of the Candidate Applicants.
e) By invoking the Prior Work Experience even in cases where there is No Experience mentioned Either as Essential Qualification (EQ) Or as Desirable Qualification (DQ).
f) By holding a Recruitment Test (RT).
Note-II: Important Points:
Viva-voce/Personality Test weighs Total 100 Marks explained as hereunder:
i) The Category-wise Minimum Level of Suitability in the Interviews (100 Marks), irrespective of whether the Selection is conducted only through Interview or by holding a Recruitment Test (RT) to be followed by the Interview, shall remain as hereunder:
a) Un-Reserved Minimum Qualifying 50 Marks to be secured out of Aggregate 100 Marks
b) Economically Weaker Sections 50 Marks
c) Other Backward Community: 45 Marks
d) Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Caste/Persons with Benchmark Disability/ies (PwBD/s): 40 Marks.
ii) In cases where Selection is carried through by Recruitment Test (RT) followed by the Personal Interview, the Candidate will have to attain the Minimum Level of Suitability in their respective Categories in the course of the Interview Stage.
a) The Candidates shall need to pay an Application Fee of Rs. 25.00 (Rupees Twenty-five only) only either by remitting the Money in any Branch of the State Bank of India in Cash or by using the Net-banking Facility of the State Bank of India or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card.
b) Reserved Community (SC/ST/PwBDs) and Women Candidates under any Community remain Exempted from paying the Application Fee.
i) Eligible and Willing Candidates should visit the USPC ORA Website for completing the Online Application Process.
ii) Carefully Read the Online Application/Registration Instructions available on the UPSC ORA Portal.
iii) Initiate the Online Application Process as per the Instructions on the Online Registration Application Portal.
iv) Scan Signature and the Most-recent Passport-size Photograph for uploading with Online Registered Application (ORA).
v) Ready Self-attested Documents to be uploaded UPSC Online Registration of Application.
vi) Remit the Application Fee Online through Payment Gateway Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking, etc.
