UPSC Recruitment 2023: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Government of India has invited Online Applications from the Officers with Eligibility for Deputationist Appointment on Security Officer (General Central Service, Group ‘B’, Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial) in its Office through this UPSC Recruitment 2023 Official Notification Dated 29.05.2023 published on 05.06.2023. According to the UPSC Recruitment 2023 Official Advertisement, Suitable Personnel selected as Security Officer will be entitled to Monthly Salary as follows:
Pay Matrix: Level 08 (Rs.47600-151100)
The Pay and other Terms and Conditions of Deputation of the Officer(s) selected, will be regulated in accordance with the Provisions contained in the DoPT (Department of Personnel & Training) Office Memorandum Number 06/08/2009-Establishment (Pay-II) Dated 17.06.2010, and Office Memorandum No. 02/11/2017-Establishment (Pay-II) Dated 24.11.2017 and 15.03.2021 as amended from to time.
As has been notified in the UPSC Recruitment 2023 Official Advertisement, the Maximum Age Limit as on the Closing Date for Receipt of the Application, is as follows:
Age Limit: Should not be exceeding 56 Years for Appointment on Deputation (ISTC).

Eligibility Conditions: Composite Method (Deputation Plus Promotion)
Specific Requirement: The Officers from Security-cum-Intelligence Agencies of the Government of India (Intelligence Bureau Or Research and Analysis Wing Or Central Bureau of Investigation Or Border Security Force Or Central Reserve Police Force Or Indo-Tibetan Border Police Or Central Industrial Security Force)
A-i) holding Analogous Posts on a Regular Basis in the Parent Cadre/Department/Organization; Or
ii) with 02-Years’ Regular Service in the Grade in Pay Level 07 (Rs. 44900-142400) of the Pay Matrix Or Equivalent; With
iii) with 06-Years’ Regular Service in the Grade in Pay Level 06 (Rs. 3540-112400) of the Pay Matrix Or Equivalent; With
B) Educational Qualifications and Experience; viz.,
Relevant Experience and in the Pay Matrix Levels prescribed.
Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree from any Duly Recognized University; With
Experience: 02 Years’ Experience in organizing Security Arrangements, gathering the Information and Intelligence relating to various aspects of Security.
Note*: The Departmental Officer holding the Security Assistant Post in Pay Level 06 in the Pay Matrix (Rs.35400-112400) with 06-Years’ Regular Service in the Grade and having in possession the Educational Qualification and Experience prescribed for Deputationists shall also be considered together with the External Candidates in case he is selected for Appointment on Security Officer Post, the Same will be deemed to have been filled up by Promotion.
Selection for Deputationist Appointment on the Security Officer Post shall be carried out By a Composite Methodology (Deputation Plus Promotion) Basis for 03 Years’ Duration.
The Period of Deputation Including Deputation Period in another Ex-Cadre Post held immediately preceding this Appointment in the same or some other Organization/Department of the Central Government, shall ordinarily not exceed 03 Years for Security Officer notified thereby.
