UPSC Recruitment 2023: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has sought Online Applications from Professionals Duly Eligible for the Assistant Survey Officer Group ‘B’ Post in the Geological Survey of India (GSI), Ministry of Mines, Government of India based on the Ministry of Mines Recruitment 2023 Official Notification. The UPSC Notified Ministry of Mines Recruitment 2023 Official Notification has arisen with 07 Vacancies to be filled up against the Assistant Survey Officer Post in the Pay Matrix Level-07. Based on the UPSC notified Ministry of Mines Recruitment 2023 Official Notification, Notified Assistant Survey Officer (ASO) to be filled up with total 07 Vacancies include 03 Posts earmarked for Un-Reserved Category Candidates.
According to the UPSC Recruitment 2023 Official Notification, the Last Date shall close on 13.07.2023 for the Applicants to complete the Online Recruitment Application (ORA) Process. Accordingly, Willing Candidates Eligible for the Assistant Survey Officer Group ‘B’ General Central Service Group ‘B’ Gazetted (Non-Ministerial) Post must complete the Online Recruitment Application (ORA) following the Instructions cited therein.

According to the UPSC Recruitment 2023 Official Notification, the Individuals selected on Assistant Survey Officer Post, shall be entitled to the Monthly Pay Matrix Level, as hereunder:
Pay Matrix: Level-07 (Rs.44900-142400) of the 7th CPC
According to the Ministry of Mines Recruitment 2023 Official Notification, the following Category-wise and Reserved Community-specific Age Limits (as on the Closing Date 13.07.2023) are to be read hereunder:
1) The Un-Reserved Category: The Candidate should not exceed 30 Years.
2) The Upper Age Limitation remains Relaxable for Regularly Appointed Central Government/Union Territory Government Servants up to 05 Years as per the instructions issued by the Government of India from time to time.
3) For Age Concessions applicable to other Reserved Communities, the Applicants should refer to the relevant Paragraphs of the “Instructions and Additional Information to Candidates for Recruitment by Selection” of the UPSC-issued Ministry of Mines Recruitment 2023 Official Advertisement.
The Eligibility, notified vide the UPSC issued Ministry of Mines Recruitment 2023 Official Notification, comprising the Educational Qualification(s) and Experience Mandatory for the Applicants has been explained hereunder:
Essential Qualification(s): The Willing Eligible Candidates should have the Eligibility comprising the Educational and Desirable Qualifications narrated hereunder:
A) Educational: Graduate/Bachelor of Engineering or Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers (AMIE)** or B.Tech Degree in Civil/Mining Engineering from any Accredited University.
** (Only those Students who got enrolled with the Institutions with Permanent Recognition up to 31.05.2013 are Eligible)
B) Experience: 02-Years’ Experience in surveying including Total Station, Global Positioning System (GPS), Theodolite Surveying, Traversing, Leveling, Contouring, Computer Software under Registered Engineering /Surveying Establishment, Mine and Dam.
Note: The Educational Qualifications and the Qualifications with regard to Experience in respect of the Candidates, otherwise well-qualified, are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission.
Based on the Ministry of Mines Recruitment 2023 Official Notification issued, the Union Public Service Commission shall carry out the Recruitment Test Selection (RTS) with Other Criteria for the Notified Assistant Survey Officer Post, which is also explained hereunder:
Recruitment Methodology:
In the event the Applications received relatively in large number from Applicants, the Union Public Service Commission may adopt the Shortlisting Criteria to restrict the number to only Eligible Candidates to be called in for the Interview to a Reasonable Number by Any or More of the Methodologies as mentioned hereunder:
i) “Based on the Desirable Qualification (DQ) or any one or all of the Desirable Qualifications (DQs), in case more than one Desirable Qualification is prescribed”.
ii) Based on the Higher Educational Qualifications than the Minimum prescribed in the Ministry of Mines Recruitment 2023 Official Notification.
iii) On the basis of the Higher Experience in the relevant field than the Minimum prescribed in the Ministry of Mines Recruitment 2023 Official Advertisement.
iv) By reckoning the Prior Professional Work-Experience before or Post-acquired Essential Qualifications of the Candidate Applicants.
v) By invoking the Prior Work Experience even in cases where there is No Experience mentioned Either as Essential Qualification (EQ) Or as Desirable Qualification (DQ).
vi) By holding a Recruitment Test (RT).
Note-II: Minimum Qualifying/Pass Marks:
As has been explained in the Ministry of Mines Recruitment 2023 Official Notification for Selection on Assistant Survey Officer, Viva-voce/Personality Test carries Total 100 Marks with the Minimum Qualifying/Pass Marks for Selection to be read hereunder:
I) The Category-wise Minimum Level of Suitability in the Interviews (100 Marks), irrespective of whether the Selection is conducted only through Interview or by holding a Recruitment Test (RT) to be followed by the Interview, shall remain as hereunder:
a) Un-Reserved (UR) Category: Minimum Qualifying 50 Marks to be secured out of Aggregate 100 Marks
b) Economically Weaker Sections (EWS): 50 Marks
c) Other Backward Community: 45 Marks
d) Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Persons with Benchmark Disability/ies (PwBD/s): 40 Marks.
II) In cases where Selection is carried through by Recruitment Test (RT) followed by the Personal Interview, the Candidate will have to attain the Minimum Level of Suitability in their respective Categories in the course of the Interview Stage.
Following is the Category-wise Application Fee and Payment Gateway for remittance by the Applicants:
I) The General Category/EWS/OBC Candidates shall have to pay the Application Fee Rs. 25.00 (Rupees Twenty-five) only either by remitting the Money in any Branch of the State Bank of India in Cash or by using the Net-Banking Facility of the State Bank of India or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card Payment Gateway.
II) Reserved Community (SC/ST/PwBDs) and Women Candidates under any Community remain Exempted from payment of the Application Fee.
