UPSC Recruitment 2023: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Government of India has sought Online Applications from Individuals deemed Eligible for the Administrative Officer (AO) Post in the Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines, Government of India vide the UPSC Recruitment 2023 Official Notification 13/2023.  The UPSC notified Administrative Officer Post has occurred with 03 Vacancies to be filled up in General Central Service, Group ‘B’, Gazetted, (Ministerial)  Classification based on the Recruitment 2023 in the Ministry of Mines. According to the UPSC Recruitment 2023 Official Employment Notice for the Administrative Officer Post with 03 Vacancies comprise 01 Post earmarked for the Un-Reserved/General Category Candidate and the remaining 02 Vacancies reserved for the Reserved Communities.

As may be referred to in the UPSC Recruitment 2023 Official Advertisement, the Administrative Officer Post will be filled up in the Pay Matrix Level-07 (Rs. 44900 – 142400). The Total Emoluments Rs. 44900 Plus DA as applicable Per Month shall accrue to the Candidates selected as Administrative Officers. Vacancy:  03 Nos. (Inclusive of 01 Vacancy earmarked for the Un-Reserved Category Candidates)

Post Classification: General Central Service Group B’ Gazetted (Ministerial).

Employment nature: All India Service Liability. The Posting remains Permanent.

Posting Establishment: Geological Survey of India, Kolkata

Monthly Salary under UPSC Recruitment 2023:

Based on the UPSC Recruitment 2023 Official Notification, the Candidates post-Selected as Administrative Officers shall be entitled to the Monthly Salary in the following Pay Matrix Level narrated hereunder:

Pay Matrix: Level-07 (Rs. 44900 – 142400) of Pay Matrix as per 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC)

Upper Age Limits under UPSC Recruitment 2023:

According to the USPC Recruitment 2023 Official Notification for Administrative Officer in the Geological Survey of India, the following Category-wise and Reserved Community-specific Age Limits (as on the Closing Date 27.07.2023) are to be read hereunder:1) The Un-Reserved Category: The Candidate should not exceed 3o Years.

2) The Upper Age Limitation remains Relaxable for Regularly Appointed Central Government/Union Territory Government Servants up to 05 Years as per the instructions issued by the Government of India from time to time.

3) For Age Concessions applicable to some other Categories of Applicants, the Applicants should refer to the relevant Paragraphs of the “Instructions and Additional Information to Candidates for Recruitment by Selection” of the UPSC-issued Ministry of Mines Recruitment 2023 Official Advertisement.

Eligibility Criteria for UPSC Recruitment 2023:

The Eligibility, in accordance with the UPSC Recruitment 2023 Official Notification, comprising the Educational Qualification(s) and Experience Mandatory for the Applicants should be read by the Applicants as follows:

Essential Qualification(s)

I) Educational:  Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from any Duly Recognized University.

II) Experience: 02-Years’ Experience in Administration, Accounts and Establishment, Legal or Vigilance matters in Central Government/ State Government/Union Territory Government Or Government Autonomous Or Statutory Organisation Or Central Public Sector Corporation Or State Public Sector Corporation Or Accredited University.

Desirable Qualification(s): i) Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Laws (LL.B.) Or Personnel Management from any Recognized University;

ii) Knowledge of Government Rules and Regulations relating to Administration, Accounts and Establishment.

II) Experience: 03-Years’ Experience in the field of Legal Practice.

 Note: The Educational Qualifications and the Qualifications with regard to Experience in respect of the Candidates, otherwise well-qualified, are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission.

Selection Procedure under UPSC Recruitment 2023:

Based on the UPSC Recruitment 2023 Official Notification issued for Ministry of Mines, the Union Public Service Commission shall carry out the Recruitment Test Selection with Other Criteria for the Notified Air Worthiness Officer Post also explained hereunder:

Recruitment Methodology:

In the event the Applications relatively received in large number from Applicants, the Union Public Service Commission may adopt the Shortlisting Criteria to restrict the number to only Eligible Candidates to be called in for the Interview to a Reasonable Number by Any or More of the Methodologies as mentioned hereunder:

a) “Based on the Desirable Qualification (DQ) or any one or all of the Desirable Qualifications (DQs), in case more than one Desirable Qualification is prescribed”.

b) Based on the Higher Educational Qualifications than the Minimum prescribed in the UPSC Recruitment 2023 Official Notification.

c) On the basis of the Higher Experience in the relevant field than the Minimum prescribed in the UPSC Recruitment 2023 Official Advertisement.

d) By reckoning the Prior Professional Work-Experience before or Post-acquired Essential Qualifications of the Candidate Applicants.

e) By invoking the Prior Work Experience even in cases where there is No Experience mentioned Either as Essential Qualification (EQ) Or as Desirable Qualification (DQ).

f) By holding a Recruitment Test (RT).

Note-II: Minimum Qualifying/Pass Marks:

As has been explained in the UPSC Recruitment 2023 Official Notification for Selection on Air Worthiness Officer in the Ministry of Civil Aviation Welfare, Viva-voce/Personality Test carries Total 100 Marks with the Minimum Qualifying/Pass Marks for Selection to be read hereunder:

I) The Category-wise Minimum Level of Suitability in the Interviews (100 Marks), irrespective of whether the Selection is conducted only through Interview or by holding a Recruitment Test (RT) to be followed by the Interview, shall remain as hereunder:

a) Un-Reserved (UR)  Category: Minimum Qualifying 50 Marks to be secured out of Aggregate 100 Marks

b) Economically Weaker Sections (EWS): 50 Marks

c) Other Backward Community: 45 Marks

d) Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Persons with Benchmark Disability/ies (PwBD/s): 40 Marks.

II) In cases where Selection is carried through by Recruitment Test (RT) followed by the Personal Interview, the Candidate will have to attain the Minimum Level of Suitability in their respective Categories in the course of the Interview Stage.

Application Fee for UPSC Recruitment 2023:

Based on the UPSC Recruitment 2023 Official Notification Following is the Category-wise Application Fee and Payment Gateway for remittance by the Applicants:

I) The General Category/EWS/OBC Candidates shall have to pay the Application Fee Rs. 25.00 (Rupees Twenty-five) only either by remitting the Money in any Branch of the State Bank of India in Cash or by using the Net-Banking Facility of the State Bank of India or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card Payment Gateway.

II) Reserved Community (SC/ST/PwBDs) and Women Candidates under any Community remain Exempted from payment of the Application Fee.
