Overview:

American Express is hiring an experienced Financial Analyst I at their Gurgaon location. GCSG FP&A team leads the Financial Planning and Results in Analysis function for Global Consumer Services Group in close partnership with market LFOs. The team is responsible for providing analytical insights in tracking and reporting of P&L metrics and financials to GCSG stakeholders. This position will play an important role in collaborating with GCSG LFOs, business partners and GCSG FP&A leadership in understanding the performance and future trajectory of the business unit.

What will you be doing:

• Complete understanding of & driving the Management Reporting process at a Segment/Regional/Market/LOB level
• Manage month-end reporting and analysis ensuring integrity of the P&L through close control activities by maintaining high accuracy and productivity standards
• Bring in useful insights to better explain business performance, key trends, and its potential impact on future performance
• Support the Annual Plan and ongoing Risks & Opportunities assessments for the Consumer business
• Drive process transformation through innovation and automation mindset
• Lead various Finance Transformation Projects with system knowledge to support in development of relevant reporting of Financials with technological attributes/advancement
• Ability to leverage Cornerstone database to drive business insights for the GCSG segment
• Collaborate with multiple internal teams to drive optimal output and deliver efficient reporting capabilities through best in class Analytics and Reporting solutions
• Assist in preparing monthly R&Os, LRP, Plan for the Lend metrics and P&L.
• Adhere to ad-hoc compliances as and when required as per the Amex ecosystem
• Ensure controls & compliance with prevailing policies & procedures
• Develop content and analysis for presentation to senior leaders across business and finance as and when required

Qualifications for this Job:

• 2-4 years of experience in results analysis, financial planning and forecasting would be preferred
• Chartered Accountant or MBA from a reputed Institute with working knowledge in Cornerstone, SQL, Tableau, Power BI preferred
• Strong understanding of AXP Segment, LOB, and P&L structure
• Knowledge of card business model & economics
• Reporting and analysis experience will be a distinct advantage
• Excellent analytical skills, with experience of managing large data set leveraging Tableau
• Must be very proficient in using MS Excel (advance level) and Power BI
• Ability to use platforms and tools such as TM1, Oracle Smart View and Cornerstone (would be a great advantage)
• Demonstrate a digital solution mindset to deliver value added analytics.
• Collaborate with multiple internal teams to drive optimal output and deliver efficient reporting capabilities through best in class Analytics and Reporting solutions
• Understand and exceed the customer’s requirements
• Effective stakeholder relationship management
• Ability to handle high pressure environment with aggressive deadlines and multiple priorities and customers
• Be flexible to operate in different time zones to troubleshoot user queries and issues
