UPSC Specialist Grade Recruitment 2022: Check Qualification, Pay Scale and Other Details

UPSC Recruitment 2022: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare under the Department of Health and Family Welfare is inviting applications from eligible candidates for the post of Specialist Grade III Oto-Rhino-Laryngology (Ear, Nose, and Throat). Candidates applying for UPSC recruitment will be engaged for a period of one year. There are 04 vacancies for the given post. Candidates below the age of 40 years can apply for the UPSC recruitment. The candidates will be paid in Level-11 of the Pay Matrix as per the 7th CPC plus NPA.

The applicants must have an MBBS degree from any recognized institute. Candidates applying for UPSC recruitment is responsible for conducting and guiding research work in the specialty and rendering patient care. The headquarters are located in Delhi, A&N Islands, Telangana, and UP and candidates appointed for UPSC recruitment shall be liable to serve anywhere in India.

  • Duties-To conduct and guide research work in the speciality. To render patient care in the speciality and Any other duties that may be assigned by the authorities from time to time.
  • Age- Candidates below the age of 40 years can apply for the UPSC recruitment. (Not exceeding 43 years for OBC candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Not exceeding 45 years for Scheduled Tribes candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them).
  • Pay Scale- Candidates applying for UPSC recruitment will be paid in Level-11 of the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC plus NPA.

Qualification for UPSC Recruitment 2022:

  1. A recognized MBBS degree qualification included in the First Schedule or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, (102 of 1956). Holder of educational qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in sub-section (3) of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956).
  2. Post-graduate Degree or Diploma in the concerned Speciality or Super-speciality mentioned in Section-A or Section-B in Schedule VI of CHS Rules, 2014 and CHS amendment Rules 2019 i.e. Master of Surgery (Oto-Rhino Laryngology) or Diplomate of National Board (Oto-Rhino-Laryngology) Or Diploma in Oto-Rhino-Laryngology.

Experience for UPSC Recruitment 2022:

Three years’ experience in the concerned Speciality or super-speciality after obtaining the first Post-graduate degree or 5 years’ experience after obtaining the Post-graduate Diploma.

  • Note 1- Doctorate of Medicine (D.M.) or Magister Chirurgiae (M. Ch.) qualification of three years’ duration shall be counted towards the requirement of experience in the concerned broad speciality.
  • Note 2- Doctorate of Medicine (D.M.) or Magister Chirurgiae (M.Ch.) of five years’ duration shall be taken as three years for completion of postgraduate degree and the last two years of the said Doctorate of Medicine (D.M.) or Magister Chirurgiae (M.Ch.) shall be counted towards the requirement of teaching experience.
  • Note 3- The Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the U.P.S.C. for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
  • Note 4- The qualification(s) regarding experience is/are relaxable at the discretion of the U.P.S.C., for reasons to be recorded in writing in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes if at any stage of selection the U.P.S.C. is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from this community possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies reserved for them.
