ISC Released Guidelines for Supplementary Exam and Re-evaluation 2024

ISC Released Guidelines for Supplementary Exam and Re-evaluation 2024: Indian School Certificate has declared the results and after the result declaration it has issued the details regarding the Supplementary Exam and Re-evaluation.

Please take notice that applicants who wish to have their results rechecked after receiving the Year 2024 results can apply for rechecking. The last date to apply for rechecking is May 10, 2024. Upon declaration, candidates who are dissatisfied with the outcome of their Recheck Request will have the opportunity to request a re-evaluation of their Theory response script(s) for the relevant subjects.

This year’s Improvement Examination is open to candidates who achieved the PCNA (Pass Certificate Not Awarded) Result in the Year 2024 Examination. These applicants may register for the exam in a maximum of two subjects or in one topic. Candidates may take the ISC Year 2025 Examination if they do not pass the Improvement Examination.

ISC Guidelines 2024: Re-checking and Re-evaluation

Re-checking- Candidates must have to submit the application for re-checking. Candidates have to pay Rs. 1,000 per subject (as prescribed by CISCE from time to time), which should be made online.

The recheck will be restricted only to check whether:

  • Every response has been checked.
  • There was an error made in adding up the points for every question in the subject and accurately moving the points to the cover page of the answer script.

Re-evaluation- Candidates must have to submit the application for re-evaluation.  Candidates have to pay Rs. 1,500 per subject (as prescribed by CISCE from time to time), which should be made online.

  • The marks given, whether increased or decreased, will be regarded as the FINAL marks once the subject expert has reevaluated the response scripts.

ISC Guidelines 2024: Improvement Exam

Applicants who sat for the ISC Year 2024 Main Examination and would like to enhance their results (grade/marks) in the same year of the exam, 2024, may sit for the Improvement Exam.

Eligibility for the ISC (Class XII) Improvement Examination-

The Results must have one of the following-

  • PCA-Pass Certificate Awarded
  • PCNA-Pass Certificate Not Awarded
  • SPCA Supplementary Pass Certificate Awarded
  • SPCNA-Supplementary Pass Certificate Not Awarded

Subjects Permitted- Candidates will be allowed to take the Main Examination in a maximum of TWO of the subjects for which they registered during the examination year. The applicants who opt to take the English course will need to show up for both the Paper 1 and Paper 2 exams.It will be mandatory for students to appear for the topic’s Theory Paper if they appear in the Improvement Examination for that particular subject.

Practical/Project work: For the ISC, the candidate will carry over the marks from the Practical/Project work of the topic that they were previously awarded in the Main Examination. On the other hand, in addition to sitting the Theory Examination, the applicant is allowed to turn in the Project Work and/or show up for the Practical if they were absent from either the Practical or the assessment of the Project Work for the topic. In this situation, the candidate’s success in the practical and/or project work should be evaluated, with grades given and turned in.

The examination charges for the Improvement Examination are-

  • Rs. 500 per Subject/Paper.
  • For the subject English, the Improvement Examination charges would be Rs. 1,000, as the subject involves two Papers, i.e., Paper 1 and Paper 2.

The higher of the two marks obtained by the candidate in the two examinations (i.e., the Main Examination vs. the Improvement Examination) will be considered as the final marks.

ISC Guidelines 2024: Supplementary Pass Certificate

In order to improve their subject grade(s) in ONE or MORE topics, candidates who have already received their PCA Result – Pass Certificate from the ISC Year 2024 Examination or earlier may take the ISC Year 2025 Examination in order to receive a Supplementary Pass Certificate.

  • Candidates for the ISC Year 2025 Examination who attend a school connected with the CISCE on a regular basis. These candidates’ entries would be sent online to CISCE by the principal of the relevant school. The deadline for Class XII entrance is August 31, 2024.
  • Applicants who do not attend a school connected with CISCE (Type 4 candidates). Candidates must get in touch with their school’s principal in order to register for the ISC Year 2025 Examination. The principal will then submit the entries online to the CISCE office.

As long as the courses are still given by CISCE for the test in the year the students intend to enter, they may obtain a certificate in any or all of the topics available in the most recent ISC test they took as candidates with regular attendance. These applicants could show up as follows for the ISC Year 2025 Examination:

  • Candidates for the ISC Year 2025 Examination who regularly attend a school accredited with the CISCE (as Type 2 candidates). These candidates’ entries would be sent online to CISCE by the principal of the relevant school. The deadline for Class XII entrance is August 31, 2024.
  • Candidates (Type 4 candidates) who have not attended a school affiliated with CISCE. Candidates must get in touch with their school’s principal in order to register for the ISC Year 2025 Examination. The principal will then submit the entries online to the CISCE office.

ISC Guidelines 2024: Pass Certificate not Awarded

The following candidates may only appear for the ISC Year 2025 Examination (only in the subjects entered for the Main Examination) if they appeared for the ISC Year 2024 Examination while attending a school affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) on a regular basis and received the PCNA Result – Pass Certificate Not awarded:

  • Candidates must be enrolled in a CISCE-affiliated school that presents candidates for the ISC Year 2025 Examination, maintain regular attendance (as Type 1 candidates), and be admitted to ISC (Class XII). These candidates’ entries would be sent online to the CISCE headquarters by the principal of the relevant school. The deadline for Class XII entrance is August 31, 2024.
  • Applicants who do not attend a linked institution (referred to as Type 3 candidates). It should be noted that these applicants will only be able to retake the exam once in the year that follows their failure, and only then if they continue to attend a school connected with the CISCE. Candidates must get in touch with the principal of the school in question to register for the ISC Year 2025 Examination. The principal will then submit the entries online to CISCE.
