Delhi Schools Admission Guidelines: Schools Asked to Recognize Illegal Bangladeshi Migrants
Delhi Schools Admission Guidelines: The Governing Authority of Delhi’s Education had directed schools to impose a strict admission process and verification of students’ documentation. To prevent unauthorized Bangladeshi migrants from registering. The MCD also issued similar directives to identify such migrants and stop issuing them documents like birth certificates.
On Monday a circular has been issued that states that every year, several lakhs of students apply to get admission in government schools. Hence, by keeping this in highlight, “schools must ensure strict procedures for admission, verification of students’ documentation to prevent illegal Bangladeshi migrants’ registrations, and execution of greater regulations to detect and prevent unauthorized admission of illegal Bangladeshi migrants in particular,”
“All the heads of government, government-aided, and unaided recognized private schools of DoE are directed to ensure that when permitting migrant children into schools, it is essential to follow a detailed, careful process to ensure that all required documentation has been provided, verified, and handled properly.”.
They further advised that in case of any indecision or doubt, the case must be referred to the local police and revenue department. Schools have been instructed to submit a weekly report.
Earlier in the month, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) passed an order to identify illegal Bangladeshi migrants who are issued birth certificates.
On Saturday, Harsh Malhotra, the Union Mos, allegedly claimed that “The Aam Aadmi Party is giving endorsement to Bangladeshi migrants just for the purpose of gaining votes. Now when the people of Delhi have become aware of it, they are raising this issue,” Malhotra shared with ANI.
Simultaneously, as part of a strategic effort to limit the rising number of illegal Bangladeshi unauthorized citizens in the capital, Delhi police conducted a comprehensive operation in the E-44 Jhuggis of New Seemapuri on December 12. On the orders of the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, who has set a two-month deadline to identify and drive out the illegal Bangladeshi intruders, the police team visited many underdeveloped areas, cross-checking resident information and identity documents as an action to follow up the given order.
