CLAT 2025 Counselling Postponed: Consortium of NLUs Seek Relief from Supreme Court Against Delhi HC Order

CLAT 2025 Counselling Postponed: The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has postponed the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2025 Counselling. The Consortium of NLUs will approach the Supreme Court to seek relief against the Delhi High Court Order to revise the CLAT merit list. The authority will release a revised schedule for the CLAT 2025 Counselling which will be followed to the resolution of the appeal in the Supreme Court.

This year the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2025 exam was held for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses on December 1 and the answer key for the same was released on December 7. Regarding the answer key, several candidates submitted their objections pointing out various mistakes in the answer key. For each objection, candidates were charged the unreasonable charge of Rs. 1000 per question.

Considering all the allegations raised, the Delhi High Court asked the Consortium of NLUs to recheck the CLAT merit list issued at the official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in, on December 7, 2024.

The official notification, recently released states that, “We wish to inform you that the single bench of Hon’ble Delhi High Court had issued an order directing the Consortium to revisit the merit list published on December 7, 2024. In response, we filed an appeal in division bench of Delhi HC, however division bench didn’t intervene the single judge bench order. We are approaching the SC for appropriate relief against this order at the earliest available date due to vacation.”

Further, it says, “We are approaching the Supreme Court for appropriate relief against this order at the earliest available date due to the ongoing court vacation.” As per the initial schedule, the first merit list for was set to be issued on December 20, 2024, for the admissions.
