Big Update! GST Portal Links with Income Tax Returns for Auto Turnover Data
A few days back, the GST portal was down as it was under maintenance to enhance the GST portal services. The GST Registration process has recently been updated. As per the updates, the GST portal now automatically fills your turnover details that you have declared from your past income tax return (ITR). This update will ease the GST registration process, as you will not have to manually submit your turnover details again, reducing the chances of errors.
The portal will display details such as the ITR filed Financial Year, Gross Total Income (GTI) Amount, Gross Turnover, and Tax Paid from your earlier ITR filings. This step shows the government’s effort to make doing business easier by using enhanced tools so that tax filing becomes quicker, simpler, and less stressful for taxpayers.
