Brick Kilns brought under special composition scheme: 45th GST Council Meeting
The GST Council’s 45th meeting was held in Lucknow under the chairmanship of the Union Finance & Corporate Affairs Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman. GST Council has inter-alia made the following recommendations relating to other change in GST rates on goods.
Brick kilns will be subject to a new composition system with a Rs. 20 lakh threshold restriction beginning on 1.4.2022. Without ITC, bricks would be subject to a 6% GST charge under the proposed arrangement. Otherwise, bricks would be subject to a 12 percent GST rate, including the ITC.
