Budget 2026: CBIC Reports ‘NIL’ Legislative Business for Budget Session 2026 of Parliament Ministry
The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) under the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, has released an Office Memorandum dated January 2026, regarding preparations for the upcoming Budget Session of Parliament in 2026. This office memorandum has been issued with the approval of the Competent Authority, signed by Prashant Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of GST and is addressed to the Assistant Commissioner, CX-9, Kartavya Bhavan-1, New Delhi.
The CBIC has disclosed to the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs that there is NIL (Zero) legislative or non-legislative business for them to present before the parliament in the upcoming Budget Session of 2026.
This communication is part of the government’s effort to compile a list of Bills and other official business that may be presented during the session. The communication refers to an earlier office email dated January 14, 2026, which also includes a letter dated January 02, 2026, passed by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs (MPA). Using this letter, details related to the bills and other items of government business are expected to be suggested during the forthcoming Budget Session 2026.
