The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has requested the Honourable Union Minister of Finance and the chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) to extend the due dates for filing the Tax Audit Report (TAR) and Income Tax Return (ITR) for audit cases.

CAIT has urged the government to extend the deadlines by two months for furnishing tax audit reports (TARs) under Section 44AB from September 30, 2026, to November 30, 2026, and income tax returns (ITRs) in audit cases from October 31, 2026, to December 31, 2026, for the Assessment Year 2026-27 (Financial Year 2025-26).

Along with this, two months extension is also requested for report filing in transfer-pricing cases in Form 3CEB/return of income from October 31, 2026/November 30, 2026, to December 31, 2026/January 31, 2027.
