CBI Arrests Tis Hazari Court Reader Red-Handed in Rs 30,000 Bribery Case
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has apprehended a reader of the Tis Hazari Court for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe amounting to Rs 30,000 in return for facilitating a bail application.
As per the information received by the CBI, the accused has been recognised as the Reader to the Additional Sessions Judge-02 at Tis Hazari Courts, Delhi. A trap was planned to catch the accused red-handed while accepting Rs 20,000 as part of the total demanded bribery amount of Rs 30,000 from the complainant. The trap was laid on April 23, 2026. On the same day, the CBI succeeded in arresting the accused.
As per the CBI press release, dated April 23, 2026, a case was registered against the accused based on a complaint alleging that the Reader at Tis Hazari Courts, Delhi, had demanded a bribe of Rs 30,000 from a woman for facilitating a bail application of her client. The CBI has not disclosed the accused name officially on its press release; however, as per the media reports, his name is Sanjeev Sadana.
The CBI repeated its commitment to take strict action against the public officials involved in corruption cases. Additionally, citizens are motivated to inform the concerned authorities if they encounter any such corruption cases or where bribes are being demanded by public officials.
