CBIC: Attari Integrated Check Post Closed for All Passenger and Goods Movement
The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has recently released Instruction No. 06/2025-Customs, dated April 26, 2025, announcing the immediate closure of the Integrated Check Post (ICP) at Attari on the India-Pakistan border in Punjab. This closure applies to all types of passenger travel and goods movement, both incoming and outgoing.
This operation follows directions from the Ministry of Home Affairs (Foreigners Division – Immigration Section), as per Office Memorandum No. 25022/05/2025-Imm. dated April 24, 2025. The directive was issued after a terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam on April 22, 2025. The government has taken serious note of the cross-border links to the incident and has therefore decided to shut down the Attari ICP with immediate effect.
All officials and stakeholders are requested to take note of this instruction and initiate necessary actions accordingly.
