CBSE Grading System 2024: CBSE Released Relative Grading System
CBSE Grading System 2024: Circular number CBSE/CE/Coord/2021, dated February 25, 2021, has already circulated the “Relative Grading” system that the CBSE has adopted for assigning subject-wise grades to the candidates in class X and XII Examinations along with the Marks achieved by them in each subject.
For the benefit of all parties involved, the contents of the aforementioned circular are restated as follows-
The participants in the class X and XII examinations receive subject-specific grades from the CBSE in addition to their individual subject marks. The candidates’ class X and XII mark sheets and certificates show the grades that were granted.
The CBSE has implemented “Relative Grading,” which is based on the more scientific relative grading method as opposed to absolute grading, which assigns grades based on preset cut-off values. This means that rather than basing the grades on a mark range, such as 91 to 100 or 81 to 90, the applicants’ respective merits are taken into account to establish the group into which they fall. Depending on how many candidates pass a certain course, grades differ between subjects.
For awarding grades, all the passed students are put in a rank order divided into 8 equal groups and are awarded grades as follows-
