The eligibility needed for the post of Assistant Professor is given below.

• A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed) in a concerned/relevant /allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University.
• The candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR (exemption from NET shall be granted in accordance with clauses (ii) & (iii) of General Note in the last section of this document).
  OR
• Candidates who obtain the Ph.D. degree from a foreign University/Institution with a ranking among the top 500 in the world University ranking (at any time) by any one of the following: (i) Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) The Times Higher Education (THE) or (iii) The Academic Ranking Of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai).

Note:
The academic score as specified in the screening guidelines for the Colleges of the University shall be considered for short-listing of the candidates for interview only, and the selections shall be based only on the performance in the interview.

Application for Delhi University Recruitment 2023:

For the UR/OBC/EWS category, candidates must pay an application fee of Rs.500. Applicants from the SC, ST, PwBD, and Women categories will not be charged an application fee.

Selection Procedure for Delhi University Recruitment 2023:

The direct recruitment of the candidates for Assistant Professors in Colleges will be done on the basis of merit through an all-India advertisement and selection by duly formed Selection Committees. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an appointment which will be duly constituted by the Selection Committee.

Constitution of Committee for Shortlisting / Screening (For Colleges):

1. Principal of the College. —- Chairperson
2. Two teachers from relevant subjects are to be nominated by the Principal.
3. One teacher from a related Department is to be appointed by the Principal.
4. An academician representing SC/ ST/ OBC/ Minority/ Women/ Persons with Differently Abled to be nominated by the Principal, if any of the candidates representing these categories is an applicant and if any of the above members of the Screening Committee does not belong to that category.After this shortlisted candidates will further proceed with the procedure as per the official notification
