Due date for FORM GST CMP -03 extended vide CGST Order no. 11/2017

If one wishes to opt for Composition Scheme, then they have to intimate the Government about their choice by filing Form GST CMP-01 or Form GST CMP-02.

• Form GST CMP-01 is to be filed bymigrated taxpayer who opted for composition scheme; they had to file this Form GST CMP-01 by 31st August,2017.
• Form GST CMP-02 is to be filed by every dealer/person who wants to opt forcomposition scheme during/middle of the financial year. The scheme becomes effective from the next month in which the Form GST CMP -02 is filed with Government.

Once you opt for composition scheme by filling up either of the forms with Government, Composition dealer is alsorequired tointimate about the stock held by them on the day of opting into the scheme. The stock details are to be filed by composition dealer in Form GST CMP-03. There is an extension in the due date to file thedetails of stock held in FormGST CMP-03. It was earlier extended upto 30th November vide order no. 5/5/2017 which is now extended upto 31st January,2018.

Subject: Extension of time limit for intimation of details of stock held on the date precedingthe date from which the option for composition levy is exercised in FORM GST CMP-03 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (4) of rule 3 of the Central Goods andServices Tax Rules, 2017 read with section 168 of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017(hereafter referred to as the Act), on the recommendations of the Council, and in supersessionof Order No. 05/2017-GST dated 28th October, 2017, the period for intimation of details of stockheld on the date preceding the date from which the option to pay tax under section 10 of the Actis exercised in FORM GST CMP-03 is extended till 31st January, 2018.
