Eid 2025 Bank Holiday: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has recently released an official notice stating that all the affiliated banks will remain open today, March 31, 2025, on Eid (Ramzan-Id/Id-Ul-Fitr). This is to handle special clearing tasks and quickly process all government transactions for the financial year 2024-25.
As a result, the Eid al-Fitr holiday on March 31, 2025, has been cancelled. Since March 31 is the last day of the financial year, banks in India will remain open. India follows the financial year from April 1 to March 31.
Banks were anticipated to have extended holidays this week and a holiday for March 31, 2025, because of Ramzan-Id/Id-Ul-Fitr.
Additionally, Sunday, March 30, was a regular day off, and March 31 was Ramzan Eid. However, banks were open on Saturday, March 29, because it was the fifth Saturday of the month. Normally, banks are closed on the second and fourth Saturdays, as well as on all Sundays.
