The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has announced its tentative employee register list for March 2025. The released data has revealed an increase of 14.58 lakh members. As per previous year statistics, an increase of 1.15% has been noticed, which indicates higher job opportunities and greater awareness of employee benefits, supported by EPFO’s successful awareness efforts. Key highlights of the EPFO Employment Data (March 2025) are as follows: New Subscribers Approximately 7.54 lakh new subscribers have enrolled with the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) in March 2025, indicating an increment of 2.03% as compared to the previous month, i.e., February 2025, and if we talk about the previous year in March 2024, an increment of 0.98% has been noticed. This increment in new subscribers is because of higher job opportunities, better awareness of employee benefits, and EPFO’s effective outreach programs. Individuals Aged Between 18-25 lead Employment Addition: This change has highly influenced the age group of 18-25. A total of 4.45 lakh new subscribers are from this age group only. Resulting in a large 58.94% of all the new members added in March 2025. This month, an addition of new subscribers in the age group of 18-25 led to an increment of 4.21% compared to the last month of February 2025. Additionally, it shows an increment of 4.73% in comparison to last year. In March 2025, around 6.68 lakh new employees aged between 18-25 were added to the list, showing a 6.49% increase compared to March 2024. This matches the earlier pattern that most people entering the formal workforce are young, mainly first-time job seekers. Individuals Rejoined to EPFO Around 13.23 lakh individuals who earlier joined to EPFO in March 2025. This indicates an increment of 0.39% from the previous month, i.e., February 2025 and a great 12.17% rise compared to March 2024. These members changed jobs but joined new companies covered by EPFO. Instead of withdrawing their funds, they chose to transfer their savings to keep their long-term financial security and continue their social security benefits.
