• Overview:
Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), Regional Office North East Region, Assam, vide Console Sl. No 5014/2020 letter no. P-11/14/Misc./1/2019-Rev. dated 13.04.2020 has Further extended for the month of February 2020 upto 15th May, 2020.
• Earlier Provision: Due date on which ESI Contribution for the month of Februry 2020 can be filed and paid upto 15th April 2020.
Crux of this notification:
The ESI Contribution for the Month of February, 2020, can be filed and paid upto 15th May, 2020 instead of earlier extended period of 15th April, 2020. • Notification Text: Keeping in view the pandemic in the form of “Corona Virus” (COVID-19) and lockdown in the country, the Director General has relaxed the provisions as entered in Regulation 26 and 31 of “the Employees State Insurance (General) Regulations, 1950”. The Proviso of Regulation 31 shall be read as 75 days instead of 45 days for the contribution payable for the month of February, 2020. The ESI Contribution for the Month of February, 2020, can be filed and paid upto 15th May, 2020 instead of earlier extended period of 15th April, 2020.
