Overview:

McKinsey & Company is hiring an experienced Finance Analyst at their Gurugram location. This is an internal, not-client facing role, however McKinsey manages itself using the same leading-edge approaches, tools, techniques, and processes that we bring to our clients. The department is responsible for producing standard monthly reports, planning, and forecasting of headcount and financials, digital and process transformation, scoping and development of ROI for different initiatives, cost redesign, and action-oriented management analysis as well as various other special projects to support senior leadership decision-making.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Ideal Candidate should be able to:

• You’ll work in an advisory capacity, providing recommendation on how decisions will impact cell financials.
• You will guide cell or firm leadership with recommendations and well-structured perspectives.
• These perspectives will be based on developing and shaping complex models to help identify and solve key issues.
• In addition, you will work with a diverse set of finance colleagues from across the firm who will ensure you have appropriate development opportunities.

Qualifications:

• 4-year college degree preferably in finance
• Additional educational or certifications preferred (MBA, CFA, CA)
• 4+ years of work experience with exposure to various areas of finance – generally in a role where you have demonstrated the ability to work effectively in teams and strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Prior experience in presenting and working with key decision makers within an organization
• Strong analytics background and experience of a professional firm’s economics
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word); experience on efficient data management, programing skills (VBA), and knowledge of Anaplan would be an advantage
• Experience in SAP would be an added advantage
• A strong commitment to excellence, personal and professional growth and an eagerness to learn and develop in multiple areas; open mindset towards change and engagement for continuous improvement
• Strong analytical mindset; excellent problem-solving skills with ability to structure ambiguous problems with little guidance; strong organizational skills; detail orientation coupled with the ability to see big-picture trends; ability to thrive under pressure
• Confidence in communicating with various levels of authority throughout the business (good communication skills to tailor messages over the phone and via email)
• Experience in supporting management and leadership by providing insight, analysis and financial results for review is a plus
• Experience in dynamic model building and design a plus
