A tie may occur when two or more candidates receive the same score. The tiebreaker rules are as follows:

  • Apply now, check eligibility, and get updates.
  • Candidates with a GATE score of 2021 will be given preference over those with a scorecard of 2024.
  • If the year of GATE result is the same, preference will be given to the candidate with better marks (out of 100).
  • If the tie persists, candidates with an All India Rank (AIR) would be given preference.
  • If the tie remains, both candidates’ Dates of Birth will be considered. Older candidates will be given precedence.
  • If the Date of Birth coincides, the rank will be determined using random number generation.
