The Government has announced that interest rates on all Small Savings Schemes will remain unchanged for the period from January 01, 2026, to March 31, 2026, (Fourth Quarter of FY 2025-26).

Govt Clarifies No Change in Interest Rates of Small Savings Schemes for Fourth Quarter of FY 2025-26 The Department of Economic Affairs (Budget Division) under the Ministry of Finance has released an Officer Memorandum dated December 31, 2025, announcing amendments or revisions in the interest rates for Small Savings Schemes. The Government of India has notified that the interest rates on all Small Savings Schemes for the period from January 01, 2026, to March 31, 2026, (Fourth Quarter of FY 2025-26) will remain the same as the rates that were applicable from October 01, 2025, to December 31, 2025, (Third Quarter of FY 2025-26).

The memorandum was addressed to the Secretaries of the Department of Expenditure, Department of Financial Services, Department of Economic Affairs, Department of Posts, Department of Revenue, Department of Investment and Public Asset Management, and the Chief General Manager (DGBA) of the Reserve Bank of India; the Chief Secretaries of the States/UT Government; the Reserve Bank of India Central Account Section; the Joint Director of the National Savings Institute; etc. Refer to the office memorandum for complete information.
