Govt. Notifies Change in Member of Appellate Authority for CA, CS, Cost Accountants
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has announced an important amendment to its earlier notification regarding the Appellate Authority, formed under section 22A of the Chartered Accountants Act 1949, section 22A of the Cost Accountants Act 1959, and section 22A of the Company Secretaries Act 1980.
The Appellate Authority plays a critical role in the professional framework for Chartered Accountants (CAs), Cost Accountants and Company Secretaries (CSs). It hears appeals against the decisions passed by the Disciplinary Committee and the Board of Discipline of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI), and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI).
As per the latest amendment, the government has replaced the earlier entry at serial number (2) of the original notification. The following serial number and entries shall be substituted:
